Sparking my way to a healthy lifestyle!
I used to want to lose weight for all the wrong reasons. Now I'm older and wiser and I have finally embraced the idea that weight loss is all about getting healthy. I used to want to lose weight for all the wrong reasons. Now I'm older and wiser and I have finally embraced the idea that weight loss is all about getting healthy. There is an alarmingly high rate of Type 2 Diabetes in my family and now is my chance to avoid it. I love life and I am learning to love myself wholeheartedly and give myself the health that I deserve. I'm a vegetarian but my husband and son are not. My husband is lactose intolerant and my son is allergic to cows milk, so I have been modifying the way that I cook to accommodate both of their needs. Vegan cooking is a great solution. I'm always on the lookout for yummy, healthy vegan recipes. Many of my goals are focused on getting organized. I believe that clearing clutter from my home and my mind will help me on the path to getting healthy! There is strength in numbers so feel free to stop by, say hello and add me as a friend!

Complete the C25K running program and run 5K at age 40. ~DONE Oct 30/2012 Fit into the clothes that have been packed away at the back of my closet for 5 years ~DONE Nov 26/2012 Lower my BMI so it's in the healthy range (25 or under): Aug 29/12 - 31.8 Sep 29/12 - 30.5 Oct 29/12 - 29.0 Nov 29/12 - 27.7 Dec 29/12 - 27.5 Jan 29/13 - 27.3 Feb 28/13 - 27.3 Lose 18 more pounds.
My Program:
WW Points Plus Online, vegetarian, low sodium. My exercise goals include getting back into some of my old favourites - yoga, snowshoeing, biking, jogging and belly dancing!
Personal Information:
I turned 40 this year and I want to celebrate with a stronger, healthier body! April marked my third year on Spark. I had a baby in 2010 and two surgeries earlier this summer so I took a break for a while but now I'm back and I'm serious about losing weight again.
Other Information:
I am participating in the Springing to Action Challenge and I'm very proud to be a member of the Bahama Mamas team!
