Fitness Minutes: 146,863

My Goals:
My goal is to lose my weight to get to 120 pounds. But most important I want to change my self image so that I see and I like who I am. Once I get to my goal I want to be able to maintain this and help others to do the same.

My Program:
This goal started 25 pounds ago. I have a friend that challenged me to lose weight. Plus another friend who kind of begged me to get healthy. So I finally listened and started to eat right and walk. When I started I was 220 pounds at least was afraid to weigh myself then so not sure how heavy I was. Just know I am proud of myself that I am under 200 and going strong. My hips so far went from 51 1/2 to 42. So this is fun.

My real name is Rosemary, I go by Rose. I am a born again Christian since 1974. I am a Mom of two boys. I am one of 12 siblings. I had polio at the age of 2. I am now legally disabled. I am a grandmother of 2 a boy and girl both 4. One from each son.

I am a Christian, I love the bible. I am divorced. I like crafts, sewing and scrapbook I love the computer. I have many accounts online such as youtube myspace gmail, facebook and clipser.

    Hi Rose,
    Just checking in on you and hope you're feeling great. Those viral bugs can give you a nasty bronchitis and it takes weeks and weeks to recover from all the coughing. I hope that is not the case for you.

    The first daffodils have just popped up and today opened. It's 63 degrees here but supposed to get cold again later in the week. I just hope the rest of the daffodils don't open yet as the cold will just kill them.

    So glad you were seen by a doctor. I felt like you had probably gotten a weakened immune system from the first bug assault and that set you up for anything else passing by. You just have to watch that you don't overdo, get rest, 8 glasses of water a day, and really solid nutrition even if it means higher calories for a bit. You have to get well first then the diet and exercise will resume.

    Got my MRI results and felt down about the problems found and frustrated that nothing is changing in the treatment! Why have the tests done if nothing is going to change in what we do for treatment?!

    I saw my PT Monday and she worked on me and it aggravated the pain making it a rough day --all day. Saw her yesterday and when she read the MRI report and heard how much pain I had Monday is taking a slightly different approach for a few sessions. I'm considered "in a hot zone" or flair-up and need to ice and cool things down then go back to tissue work and stretching. I'm banded from all stretching for a while. I did get approval for water exercise and have now added 2 more days a week to it so 5 days in the pool. This new class is a major workout for me. We swim laps with different exercises being done with various water tools for resistance training. There is nearly no rest time. So I'm hoping this will help me to get out of this plateau I've been on since Christmas.

    Just frustrated that the back/hip/neck issues can't really be eliminated only improved upon. Weight loss is great for helping in this--less pressure on bones and joints.
