a better version of me

Nine years ago, I was almost 300 pounds. ALMOST 300 POUNDS!

I hid her for a long time. I changed towns, jobs, friends... How could I allow that to happen? I was ashamed.

I tell who ever will listen now. I went through hell and I kept going! The girl who once walked up hills out of breath is now running 5ks (also out of breath at points, in progress). Day by day, I create a better version of myself. I'm so proud of how far I've come!

My Goals:
I'd like to remain happy and healthy! I would like even more energy. I would like to show up committed every day - the only bad workout is no workout at all! I have my first 10K lined up for September. I also want to play tennis again, and learn to ride a bike, and maybe become awesome at freeze tag.

My Program:
My diet .... my diet needs work. I love healthy food, I just love some unhealthy things more. My workout strategy is go out there and enjoy it, walk in great weather, stock up on virtual 5K medals, get a ton of social support and take smiling sweaty selfies! :)

Thank you so much for the Goodie! I'm happy to say I have managed to not eat any fast food for days now. I've had restaurant food, but not fast food, so I figure that's a little bit better.

Setting up the streaks is pretty easy. On your Start page on the left halfway down is the "my Goals and Progress" section. Click the "SparkStreaks" tab. Once in, click "Start / Manage SparkStreaks". There should be some defaults in there already for water, veggies, fitness (you can adjust the time). There are check boxes to click to make public on your spark page.

You can also add a custom goal to the quick tracker on the start page and it will also show up under the SparkStreaks. Mine is "track food daily".

Then just log everything from your start page and it will show up in the spark streaks and on your spark page in the awards area.

Give it a try and let me know if you have any trouble.

Congrats on the clean out - I love that feeling!!

I'm doing great too - got some really good workouts in this week!

Firefly, I may need a little assistance with that. I thought I had it, and then I didn't. Been doing great though! Started on my big clothing project last night (3 bags of chubby clothes going to find new homes so far) and I've been writing every day. :) I haven't started my Italian classes yet, but I am going to this weekend. Doing great! I hope you're doing well too!! :)
