HELPING MYSELF BY HELPING OTHERS
Born in the first half of the last century, I have now been a member longer than some of the Spark coaches. That makes me an old-timer. I joined Spark in May of 2005, before the change to the current format. What caused me to join was an attempt to lose weight brought on by a time of deep depression caused by PTSD. Born in the first half of the last century, I have now been a member longer than some of the Spark coaches. That makes me an old-timer. I joined Spark in May of 2005, before the change to the current format. What caused me to join was an attempt to lose weight brought on by a time of deep depression caused by PTSD. I continue with Spark to help me focus on an important part of my life, and to continue to interact with all the quick and dedicated minds here at Spark People. While here, I have become an advocate of "Humor is the Best Medicine" philosophy and on most days I will have a blog post that is either funny, sarcastic or very droll. Everyone is invited for some unplanned core muscle building through laughter!

My Program:
Depression episodes were more than I expected in 2011. I put together a "Motivational Music" CD to help with down mornings. I did manage to keep off #5.5, which, I guess, is better than adding to my start last year. I WILL prove my Endo Wrong! When I had polio as a child, they told me I'd never walk without a limp, either. I lettered in cross country, track and football - then went on to become an Army officer and combat vet. Stubbornness can be a positive trait.
