2013 "another" fresh start

I have five children, and just keeping the house up takes alot of energy, but I want to have more energy to play with the kids and be an active kinda mom. My two youngest are 7 year old twins both with Down Syndrome and Autism. I NEED to get in shape mostly for them. This is something I NEED to do for me as well as my family. I lost 50 pounds with Spark People between October 2009 and May 2010. I ran my first 5k, I was totally loving life. THEN, one of my twins fell and broke his femur in June. I sat the entire summer with him as he was in a SPICA cast (1/2 body cast). He could do nothing and I too just sat and did nothing. Then my food decisions went bad, I lost my motivation.. and then I gained 25 pounds back.. One year later to the exact same date as my sons fall, I fell and tore my ACL and had to have reconstructive knee surgery done. Through months and months of rehabilitation I was down and depressed that I could no longer do what I did before... I gave up :( Now I am at my highest weight ever.... Its time to take that back off PLUS!!! Lord Help ME!!!!!!

My Goals:
I want to stay on track so I'm setting short term goals. I want to lose 5 to 8 lbs a month. I'm hoping that once I get into the groove of working out and eating right the weight will melt off. I've done this before... I lost 50 pounds two years ago but things happened and I gained it ALL back, plus some. I want to take it off again and keep it off.

My Program:
I plan on tracking my intake with Spark People to become more aware of my portions. I am total proof that this is the real ticket to weight loss. I lost 50 pounds by faithfully recording my nutrition.. then.. I stopped and gained 25 of that back within 6 months. This is an accountability thing for me. Write it down and own it!!!

I am NOT going to put a number of pounds I want to lose this year down.. NOPE, instead I'm going to be more generic and say that I want to make and take time for ME. By doing this, I KNOW that the pounds will come off and I will be happier than I am right now.

Personal Information:
Wife to Tom for 15 years. Mom to 5 beautiful children. Two girls ages 13 and 9 and three boys ages 7 and 5 year old twins. They certainly keep me going!

Other Information:
I have been wanting a treadmill for so long. My darling, supportive husband got me one for Christmas 2010. I ran a 2 mile race last April in 19 minutes, my first goal for the year is to run that race again and beat my time. Let the training begin :)
