Ready to do this again!
Since starting my journey with Spark in 2008, my life has changed. The best part of all is that my family has started to be more health conscious. I am in better shape than I've ever been in my life - and definitely smaller than I've ever been too! I hit my goal weight on 9/11/08. A total of 34 pounds lost! My kids have realized that exercise can be fun and are interested now. Occasionally my boys will work out, but my daughter loves to come to Zumba class or to do ...
Since starting my journey with Spark in 2008, my life has changed. The best part of all is that my family has started to be more health conscious. I am in better shape than I've ever been in my life - and definitely smaller than I've ever been too! I hit my goal weight on 9/11/08. A total of 34 pounds lost! My kids have realized that exercise can be fun and are interested now. Occasionally my boys will work out, but my daughter loves to come to Zumba class or to do Turbo Jam with me. She has her own yoga mat and wants to get her own workout clothes too. My sisters and my mom have been able to begin their weight loss journey due in part to my success. I have been so excited about the things I've learned on spark - I tell people everywhere! It had never been hard for me to maintain, but I'd never been able to lose ANYTHING! The summer before I found Spark, I ran 2 miles a day and it didn't help at all. I think I didn't get the other part of the equation - what goes in! After working out for just a couple weeks I couldn't believe the difference. I felt great! I've never paid much attention to what I eat and I'm really paying close attention now - it really helps me do it right! I've made it harder to find junk by making sure I have healthier snacks around. I try to pay closer attention to eating - scheduling snacks instead of waiting until I'm starving. I've been in maintenance mode for a couple months now. My Goals:

Personal Information:
I live in small town America - it's not as small a town as it used to be, but still my "illusion" of living far away from it all. I work as the Business Manager for a state charter school, C.S. Lewis Academy. After years in the "corporate world" I'm loving the school environment.
Other Information:
Some of my favorites: Reading: mostly sci-fi and fantasy, but to be truthful, about anything I can get my hands on - I'm not picky. The Sword of Shannara series by Terry Brooks is my all time favorite. Outdoors: Camping, fishing, hiking Photography: I love taking pictures. I think the digital camera is the greatest invention ever - maybe second only to indoor plumbing! Scuba Diving: I certified with my husband years ago and although there isn't much opportunity here, I love it when I can! I recently completed a rescue diver certification, so now I know some skills if things go wrong - hopefully I never need to use them! My husband and I are planning on picking up spearfishing this year.
