POLYANNA2 - ONTARIO

Challenges keep me motivated and I am thrilled to have spent such a successful spring challenge with all my four-legged, floppy-eared puppy pals on the Spirited Underdogs team. The kennel gate will be opening up shortly and we'll be off and running for the Summer 5% Challenge. I can't wait!!! 2014 is going to be a great year. Onederland is my goal.

On the intake side of things, I am following the SP food guide but tweaking it to include only foods with high anti-oxidant values and anti-inflammatory properties. I guess you could call it an anti-arthritis diet.

I'll dance with you!! Actually, it was 4 pounds, but I hadn't updated my Spark page, just the challenge page. So, I'm really smiling today! emoticon The down side is that I won't start water exercises until Monday. Silly me for thinking I could just drop in and sign a paper or two and make $$ arrangements. No, I had several pages to fill out including bank info for draft deductions, etc. So...I missed the friday times, but no worry, I'll be there Monday. These pounds came off strictly on what I was able to do around here AND being really careful with my calories. I'm planning to try my best to continue that. And speaking of which...congrats to you on that 1# loss!! One a week until we hit goal would be so awesome, wouldn't it?? Have a great weekend, Carol!! Hi, Carol, and thanks for the pool Goodie! So, here's the story...I went Monday to check it out, get the info on pricing times of classes, etc. But, I wanted to be sure before I paid for something I might not use, so today I went to watch part of a water exercise class and also another more traditional class called Enhance Fitness or something like that. Either would work, but I want to do the water. The only down side is that the water class is only M, W, and Friday. There is another one that meets T/Th, but I'll have to see if I'm up to it. The pool is open for water walking from 5:30 to 7 am...nope, I'll never ever make that, so have to stick to the other. This is a smaller branch of the Y from the neighboring town. I'm happy it's here and I think it will be a great place to start!! emoticon My plan is to go up on Friday morning to get signed up and then do my first session. I'm really hopeful it won't make the sciatica and worse and might even help it.

Tomorrw it is off to see my Mom. Did I tell you she is 92? I haven't been up to see her since before DH had his surgery, so it's been a month. Our kids were up when they were here, so that was nice and helped break up the time a bit. My sister is in a nursing home and I'll stop to see her, too, or possibly we'll go to lunch somewhere.

Oh yes...sticking with my 1300-1400 calories a day and I think I'm making good progress. I've been fooling around for way too long. Have a great day and rest of the week! Hugs, Jeannie emoticon

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you!! You're the greatest! Love the yoga mat and I promise I'll put it to good use. I'm so frustrated. This exercise thing is for the birds, as almost everything I do except for some of the strength training things seems to make the sciatica worse. I've seen the orthopedic docs and have done tons of PT, but nothing seems to be helping. Maybe later when Richard is able to drive again I'll see about a second opinion. Then again...maybe it will be better by then! emoticon Meanwhile, I'm going to focus on cutting my calories some and will keep working the ST and try to do a little more walking. HI hon !! I hardly ever hit those "gotta eat the WHOLE HOUSE" thangs, but yeah ,,, about once out of a month it happens. THANKFULLY I am fine again and aiming for a 2 lb loss,, am already on Tues AM,,, at the 208 mark,,, so now to hit the 207 mark !!

BUT !! I MAY???? Have to stop losing, and load up on diff forms of food,,, I have a pressure sore developing,,, hmm of course on my hiney,, why couldn[t it be an elbow??? my shoulder??? NOOOOO it HAS to be to where I gotta DRoP my PANTS !! SHEESHE MAN !!! I hate that !!! I need to call Dr back tomorrow,,, earlier,,, I couldn't tell if it was warmer than the surrounding skin,, now I can,, so yeah,,, with my fancy cast on,,nnd NOT supposed to be moving OFF the couch,,, I can this happening,, it'll need some attending to. She today sent me some pics thru email,, its either stage 1 (no broken skin )or 2,,,, which I suspect,,, since it looks like a bruise,, it has developed under the skin,,,, which is what my foot uclers always do. So time will tell. I SURAH do get tired of negative things happening. The surg,, than the flu ,,,, then the bbugs (THANKFLLY to my 2 friends coming down,,, and steaming my place they were here for 10 days and GONE ! PHEW !) and NoW this !!

WHen do I get my cake and ice cream to celebrate a much better day?

how does one with PAWS UP In the Air do this????

I am closely watching my cals,,, I have greatly REDUDED THEM !! OH YEAH !!! That's a PLUS for me,,, though as said earlier I was SOOOO HUNGRY !!! OH YEAH !!! Than today,,,,, its BACK to NORMAL !! YEAH !!

I am ALSO not just trying to lay here,,,, I can use my weights,, and also work on my core, as long as my leg (left one with the yellow cast (neon) LOL ,, Up to my knee does NOT move, or be tightened with the rest of the lower body,, takes some real control,, but I've been doing this for yrs,,, so I CAN do it. I WANT to lose NOT ONLY LBS,, and MAKE the 5% !!!!! AND I DO WANT THAT BADLY !(That ALSO helps,, for I keep on envisioning it ! My goal is 203 ! From 214 ! WOOHOOOO !!!!! I am currently at as of last Fri 209,,,, that's keeping 2 lbs on for the cast weight,, though it MAY weigh 4 lbs, so when that FINALLY comes OFF on the 25th,, I Expect to lose a little, but !! I get A NEW cast on,, just NOT so high !!! I can ask them if they know how much it weighs,, but then they will KNOW I've been dangling my foot down (NO WEIGHT) and they DO NOT want me too, but I am a SCALE OBBESSED person. I HAVE to JUMP on it,, 5 or MORE times a DAY !! OH YEAH !! WICKLY OBESSED !! It HELPS me though. I am QUITE proud of it. :) If the house caught on fire,,, I'd have to decide,, between Izzy and the SCALE !! WHICH do I LOVE MORE?? HAHAHAHA !! POOR Izzah !!!! She's such a GOOD Gal !!!! She's SO JEALOUS of the puter,,,, she'll stay away sleeping (CATS !! WISH I was LIKE THAT !),,,, most of the day, but when I normally grab puter at night,,, she's ALL OVER ME !! LOL BRAT ! "BRAT CAT" is one of her MANY names !

And I TRACK ALL (I Didn't yesterday) but almost ALWAYS do I TRACK ALL !!! WOOHOOOO !!! I am NOT adding in the exercise extra cals to burn off,,, since I do not often sweat that much,,, normally I DO count this, when I am ding yoga which I HOPEFULLY can still do,,, we need to find out,, for that toe will be extremely fragile, but I ADORE Yoga,,,, and twisting around my body,, it's the OLD gymnast in me !
