POLYANNA2 - ONTARIO

Challenges keep me motivated and I am thrilled to have spent such a successful spring challenge with all my four-legged, floppy-eared puppy pals on the Spirited Underdogs team. The kennel gate will be opening up shortly and we'll be off and running for the Summer 5% Challenge. I can't wait!!! 2014 is going to be a great year. Onederland is my goal.

On the intake side of things, I am following the SP food guide but tweaking it to include only foods with high anti-oxidant values and anti-inflammatory properties. I guess you could call it an anti-arthritis diet.

HI Carol !!! Read ur comment om Jeannies page,, how BUSY you are working around the house !! WOOHOOO YOU GO GIRL !! Did ya know you CAN count that as exercise? I'd prob put it under "housework" cos that burns off the cals at a good rate,,, and you ARE working om the house,,,, and you DESERVE to count the time !!

SO GLAD you do as you can with the swimming,, walking,,,, its sooo COOL !! i've been side lined from swimming,, since June 16th and found out today I am in the air cast til sept 23rd. I DID see some xrays today,, and my bones are about 1/8th to 1/4th of the way already fused,,, when this is totally done,, I THINK??? He goes in an takes OUT the screws,,, or B4 !! cos I've developed an infection,,, my reg foot Dr thinks it's the screw for the plate,, that it's not down enough into the foot,, I am SuRE my surgeon though did the right thing,,,, and that its just my foot. I am now on an antiobic,,,, for 10 days, but that's ALSO due to change tomorrow,, when I go to the surgeons office,, he's off for 2 weeks,, so I'll see a PA,,, hopetully they can tell on the xray whats happening,, and act accordingly.

Hi, Carol. Been thinking about you and wondering how youa re. Hope you've had a good week/weekend. I'm feeling pretty positive right now and if I can stay focused, I think I'll have a loss this week for the last WI. Not a fabulous challenge, but better than some I've had. It helps to be able to get to the Y for exercise. Oddly (to me anyway), I've found that every time I try to walk for any distance (for exercise), it kicks up the sciatica. I've decided to stick with the pool and Silver Sneakers gym stuff. I still get a "workout" and it doesn't seem to bother me. Take care, my friend! Love, Jeannie emoticon emoticon

I hope you are enjoying the summer!I am doing my best to exercise and keep as active as I can till they replace my hip some days it is a challenge.
