Samsø June '06. Me between my M-I-L and S-I-L. That's the size I want to return to!

In loving memory. Valdemar 9/4 2000 - 6/12 2009

I am Poly!

It's a nickname I got from my friends at my dorm back in the day when I was a student at University of Copenhagen. It fits me I think - I'm maybe a bit of a Pollyanna, trying to see everything in a positive ligt. I mean, what's the point in being negative...?!

I was introduced to SP by some great friends of mine over on the Blood Type Diet Forum (www.dadamo.com), and I'm so happy I followed their lead and joined. THANK YOU JanetElisabeth1, Aoife1972, and OutdoorDrea!!!

After following Atkins' principles, and later eating according to my blood type and GenoType I had acquired a pretty good idea about WHAT to eat: I rarely eat processed foods, I don't have a sweet tooth at all (presented the choice I always choose an entree over dessert), I love fish and good quality meat, I eat lots of vegetables, and I almost never eat grains.

I was ready to learn HOW to eat:

Amazing how the solutions always turn up when you're ready to receive them: I was recently introduced to Paul McKenna's book, "I Can Make You Thin" and his 4 Golden Rules. The missing piece in my puzzle!

Paul McKenna writes: "We are not only what we eat but what we think as well"

I know that's true!
Guess, what happened the last times I was at my goal weight? Nothing! Absolutely nothing at all!
Did I overnight become a new person? No! Just smaller.
Did all my problems go away? No! My weight was a thing less to worry about, but other issues were still present.
Did people like me better slim? No! They liked me just the same.
Did I like myself better slim? NO! After app. 5 minutes at my goal weight I started complaining my butt was still too big, and my boobs were shrunk too much! Geeze!
What's an accommodating body supposed to do with all that negativity? Answer: Protect itself and gain back the weight.
I didn't have a clue how to stop it - before now!

I'm shrinking in size while growing as a person!

You're welcome to stay and watch! ;-)

My Goals:
As a GT2 Gatherer, I have a "padded" look even at my ideal weight wich led me to believe I was fat when I really wasn't, and led me to diet for too long and lose too much weight.
That, in turn, led me to over-eat when I reached my goal-weight and gain it all back.
Now, my #1 Goal is to get to the weight where my BMI is normal (74 kg - 163 lbs)
#2 to get my weight down to 65-68 kg (145-150 lbs)
#3 Stop my weight from yo-yo'ing due to my approved eating-pattern, and look and feel healthy and happy!

My Program:
I'm a Blood Type O secretor and Genotype 2, Gatherer. My body craves and thrives on Type O/Gatherer-foods: Lots of vegetables, lean meats, some dairy, and low GI-fruits.

I don't use the SP-guidelines - they don't fit me at all.

4) Be aware of what I eat

Personal Information:
I'm 45 years old and 1.72 m (5'7'').
Since my early teens I've been struggling with my weight. My personal record was 90 kg (198 lbs) in 2000.
In July 2005 after 9 month on Atkins I was at my lowest: 64.5 kg (142 lbs).

I live in Denmark, Scandinavia, on a farm together with my husband, a dog, 2 ponies, and 2 cats. In the future we'll add some horses, chicken, sheep, AND hopefully some babies...!!! :o)

Other Information:
I love animals and am totally devoted to my dog. I also love horses and used to do a lot of riding earlier. Sadly enough my old dressage horse, Night Life, died in 2003 - 21 years old - and I miss her so much. I hope to get another horse in the future.

I'm a Christian and am interested in personal development and spiritual growth.
It all started with Carol Tuttle. (www.caroltuttle.com) Her book "Remembering Wholeness" is wonderful!
And then it just took off from there - it's amazing!

Sorry to hear about your dog. We had a family dog once that had cancer! He was so sick he had to be put down it was the best thing for him. So sad I know as we do love our pets like they are our kids.

Hope you survive the busy work schedule and that things get better for you! Look after yourself while all this is happening.

No worries also if you are not as present in the team as you should be or is normal I am sure every member of the team will understand I sure do anyhow.

Take care,

emoticon Paula

Thanks Poly-E for the SP friend add. I will try and be a good sparkfriend. Sometimes other life plans get in the way and I am not as good a SF as I should be, ... just warning you. I am, however, proud to be your friend. emoticon
