Eat Less, Move More!
Hello World! I'm not at all new to wanting to lose weight... unfortunately! Even as a fit athlete in high school, I always had this negative self-image that had me constantly altering my ways of eating and striving for a different body. 2 years ago, I finally lost 22+ of the lbs. that I had gained in college. I was about halfway to my high school/goal weight when I lost the momentum to keep up with it. I had been doing WW and although it was a great program, the meetings lost their appeal and began to feel like a huge chore to me. Well over the last year and a half, I managed to gain back 14 of those lbs. An office job and a serious boyfriend will do that to you, I guess. I've been casually doing WW again for a few months but I just haven't been able to get back on the wagon. I've decided to keep my WW guidelines in mind but count calories here on SP instead. I'm a huge social butterfly. I love to go out with friends (or stay in with friends, that's fine too) and food and drinks seem to be the focus of many gatherings. I'm tired of the mindless eating, and especially the guilty/crappy feeling the next morning. Now for the big news: I'm getting married! That's right! I'm marrying the love of my life in the Spring of 2010. There's NO reason why I can't love my body by then. I feel that I physically cannot bring myself to be in front of hundreds of people (and in pictures for all eternity) looking the way I do right now. But wait, there's more! We live on a lake and spend all of our free time in the summer on the boat. Last summer I wore a bathing suit cover religiously. This year, I would love to be comfortable enough in my skin to just hang out in my bathing suit all day long with friends. If I can get healthy by this summer it will cut out a lot of stress in the 9-12 months leading to our wedding. I'm so ready to be healthy... I can't wait! I'd love to make some friends here to share my adventure with! Don't hesitate to say hi! :)
