My goal is to get my body fat to 25%

Hi! I'm Joanna, I'm 32 years old, married and have two boys. I have lost weight (20 - 25 lbs) and gained it back three times! I'm in the process of losing my "winter weight" and am training for another marathon in May. My goal this time is to lose the weight AND sustain that weight loss. 2/20/13

I just completed my second half marathon last month and I want to do a full marathon next year. This is a goal that sounds kinda impossible but a half marathon used to sound impossible! I can do anything with the right training! I'm focusing on getting rid of 10% of my body weight for now. The more weight I lose the easier it's going to be to run that marathon! I am getting better at monitoring my eating....that's the only thing that helps me lose weight....it's all about eating for me! I refuse to lose the dreaded 5 lbs this holiday season!!! ;) 11/3/11

Last year I trained for my first triathlon and lost 22 lbs then after my race I started slacking, gaining back 8 lbs. Now I am back on track and determined to get to my goal weight and I am signed up for my first half marathon in June. I've lost 7 of the 8 lbs I had gained back. It feels good to be eating right and training for something again. I'm concentrating on learning more about healthy eating...finding new recipes, incorporating more healthy foods into my diet that I don't necessarily eat all the time. My husband is training for a half ironman (triathlon) so it's nice that him and I are both training for something together. Him & I both want to eat healthy and exercise and we want to be an example for our kids to be healthy. 1/31/11

I am a 5'4" stay-at-home mom that is ready to step it up a notch with my working out and eating! I live in Port Angeles, WA but I'm originally from Canada. I have dual citizenship as my Mom is American and my Dad is Canadian. I moved here to go to college, I have relatives in the area and I wanted to live in the States. I met my husband at a bbq he was having almost 11 years ago. I wasn't looking for anyone but as we started hanging out I began falling for him. I got married when I was 21 and my husband wanted a baby so bad so I finally caved after almost a year and we got pregnant. I had my first son when I was 23 and then had my second son when I was 27. I feel blessed to have two beautiful happy boys and my husband is so awesome. He really just wants me to be happy and he is so in love with me and I am so in love with him after all these years! I'm 29 now and he's 30. We're enjoying our lives with our kids and right now training for a triathlon together. We're going to celebrate our 8 year anniversary the same weekend as our triathlon. It's going to be so nice to get away by ourselves and doing this triathlon together has made us so close. He recently told me he's never been so proud of me ever. He's my biggest cheerleader and I couldn't have done it without him. He lost 60 lbs in the last two years and he has been a huge inspiration to me. That's a long intro so I'll end it here. I'm so glad I found sparkpeople! It's a huge key to my success!!!

4/23/10 post:

I've lost 7 lbs in the last two weeks, I'm exercising differently this time. I'm going to try to mix it up a lot. I'm also counting calories which is so important. I have such a different mindset this time...I've lost 20 lbs and gained it back before...I'm not doing that again. I'm replacing my bad habits with good habits and I want to focus on having a healthy lifestyle. I don't want to diet hard core and lose weight as fast as possible, that is not sustainable. I want to eat properly and exercise most days of the week forever! So bye bye nighttime snacking, too much TV and not enough outdoor activities. I just bought a bike and a bike trailer for my 2 year old...I think it's going to be a fun way to exercise. My 6 year old can ride his bike next to me. I'm going to be doing WAY more hiking this spring/summer too. I live in such a beautiful area (Northwest part of Washington)....time to explore!

Hi! I am so sorry I havent responded to your comment sooner....I have been MIA for about 6 months :) But I'm back now :) Thans for the sweet comment on my page and to your question about the 30 day shred, it is both cardio and strength training, and its totally awesome! That workout did WONDERS for my body when I was doing it 3x a week and counting calories. You may have already given it a sot but if not GO FOR IT, lol. Time for me to dust it off and get back at it myself! emoticon

I never did the 30 Day Shred on consecutive days. I usually alternated it with something else. And yes...it made me REALLY sore. How are you doing with it? I'll bust it out on occassion to switch things up:)
