Today is so far gone....and tomorrow's still a miracle...

This is the beginning of a new day.
You have been given this day to use as you will.
You can waste it or use it for good.
What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever...in its place is something that you have left behind.
Let it be something good.

I'm Gail. I'm 56 years old and have been married to my awesome husband for 32 years. We have 3 children...a son who is married with a 6 year old daughter, a daughter who is married with an 8 year old daughter and a 2 year old daughter and last, but not least, we have a daughter who is 20 and just moved into her own apartment. I have been overweight since I was about 8 years old but never this bad.I am determined to lose this weight for good this time! I want to feel healthier physically but also emotionally and mentally.

My Goals:
I'm participating in a challenge here. I want to support my team mates by exercising 30 minutes at least 5 days a week and doing whatever it takes to be successful for me and for them! I will encourage them by posting on the team discussion boards and on individual pages.

My Program:
I am tracking my food and counting calories. I never thought I could or would want to do that but it's so easy with the SparkPeople app and the LoseIt app on my phone. I'm able to look up the foods I want to eat and then make the choice whether to eat them or not.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Mississippi but have lived in Louisiana long enough that it's home now.

I love to read and I love music.

My DH and I love to go to antique auctions and to antique shops. It's a little depressing though when we realize we currently own some of those "antiques"! LOL

Other Information:
An old woman once said, "There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad and focus on the good. So love the people who treat you right, and pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

Peace...it doesn't mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

You have suffered enough at war with yourself...it's time that you won...

Get out this weekend and enjoy emoticon . Did you know vitamin D plays a critical role in -

emoticon Vitamin D may have a key role in helping the brain to keep working well in later life, according to a study of 3000 European men between the ages of 40 and 79.

emoticon Vitamin D is probably linked to maintaining a healthy body weight, according to research carried out at the Medical College of Georgia, USA.

emoticon It has been shown to reduce the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis in women.

"Humans make thousands of units of vitamin D within minutes of whole body exposure to sunlight. From what we know of nature, it is unlikely such a system evolved by chance."

    - John Cannell MD, Executive Director, Vitamin D Council.

These are just a few great reasons to get outdoors and do something good for your health.
