Today is so far gone....and tomorrow's still a miracle...

This is the beginning of a new day.
You have been given this day to use as you will.
You can waste it or use it for good.
What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone its place is something that you have left behind.
Let it be something good.

I'm Gail. I'm 56 years old and have been married to my awesome husband for 32 years. We have 3 children...a son who is married with a 6 year old daughter, a daughter who is married with an 8 year old daughter and a 2 year old daughter and last, but not least, we have a daughter who is 20 and just moved into her own apartment. I have been overweight since I was about 8 years old but never this bad.I am determined to lose this weight for good this time! I want to feel healthier physically but also emotionally and mentally.

My Goals:
I'm participating in a challenge here. I want to support my team mates by exercising 30 minutes at least 5 days a week and doing whatever it takes to be successful for me and for them! I will encourage them by posting on the team discussion boards and on individual pages.

My Program:
I am tracking my food and counting calories. I never thought I could or would want to do that but it's so easy with the SparkPeople app and the LoseIt app on my phone. I'm able to look up the foods I want to eat and then make the choice whether to eat them or not.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Mississippi but have lived in Louisiana long enough that it's home now.

I love to read and I love music.

My DH and I love to go to antique auctions and to antique shops. It's a little depressing though when we realize we currently own some of those "antiques"! LOL

Other Information:
An old woman once said, "There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad and focus on the good. So love the people who treat you right, and pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living. doesn't mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

You have suffered enough at war with's time that you won...

MIRROR, MIRROR ( a poem to make you giggle)

Mirror mirror on the wall do you have to tell it all?
Where do you get the glaring light to make my clothes look just too tight?

I think I'm fine but I can see you won't cooperate with me.
The way you let the shadows play you'd think my hair was turning grey.

What's that you say, a double chin?
No that's the way the light comes in.
If you persist in peering so you'll confiscate my facial glow.

And then if you're not hanging straight you'll tell me next I'm gaining weight
I'm really quite upset with you for giving this distorted view.

I hate you being so smug and wise.
Oh look what's happened to my thighs!
I warn you now oh mirrored wall since we're not on speaking terms at all
If I look like this in my new jeans you'll find yourself in smitherines!
