January 2018 (almost) - Weight is down about 9 pounds (about 5%) from this time last year. And, 2017 was a lot more fun and a lot less stress. Lots of family and travel, lots of bike miles and steps.

January 2017 - Last year was not a terrific year for me. Started out pretty good with me deciding to leave a job that was not making me happy - but extricating myself was a little stressful. Then late Summer was consumed with being a juror on a murder trial for 7 weeks. Then the election! Ugh! Still not over that - what a shift in reality! Still feeling a little like I'm being forced to live in an alternate universe. There were happy spots: lots of camping, traveling and fun with family and Jim. We bought a new truck and cabover that we are loving. And we took a really long, fun trip on the Harley. The result was an additional 15 lbs over the year and a complete shelving of my usual routine. But NO MORE! I'm putting that routine back in place.

January 2016: Not much is new. I lost some weight in the early part of last year, but I've put it back on. Once again, work got in the way. I started a new position in May and it's all consuming nature has zapped up all my energy.

I successfully completed a Whole 30 last year, I know I need to eat a lot closer to "that way" all the time. But, overall the food isn't too bad. I've come along way in the last few years in that regard. The weight issue (which is really an "I hate the way I look in my clothes" issue has more to do with not getting the exercise in.

I guess this years' overarching goal for 2016 needs to be finding some balance!

January 2015: Dang - I wish I could post the same thing I posted this time last year! But, I'm up 12 lbs, I got involved in a project that worked my tail off way too many hours most of the year and I can't seem to maintain a morning routine. The few upsides include . . . I haven't had any Diet Dr Pepper in 9 months, and have had very little artificial sweetner period in that time and I think I'm probably doing a better job of getting those freggies in most of the time.

That project has ended and it's time to figure out what I was doing in 2013 that was so successful. Time to return to the "Plan."

2014 . . . Just staying with the plan, 2013 was a pretty good year. I'm slimmer and stronger. I'm definitely playing more and working less. I'm definitely eating higher quality food. The morning yoga and meditation is at about 50%. The DDP . . . well . . .any lack of progress was a result of not following what is a really good plan. LOL

Eat better, more nutrient dense foods - reduce processed foods - drink more water - get strong, be physically active.

Start everyday with a little yoga and meditation.

Look for the happy in every moment.

Find ways to surround myself with interesting, fun people.

Spend more time doing the things I most enjoy.

Work less, play more

Be kinder and gentler with the people around me
