About me:

I had fallen off the wagon so to speak but I'm back in the saddle and working out again. I have cut back on my carb intake and eating more fruits and veggies.

Anyone have any good summer soup/pasta recipes??

My Goals:
My goal is to get back into my healthy normal BMI range..



My Program:
drink 8 cups of water.. eat smaller meals..stay away from the white stuff, have smaller healthy snacks such as almonds and dried fruits..stay away from high fat/carb snacks..
find things to distract myself when I want to emotional eat especially at night.... I enjoy drinking hot tea in the colder months. Work out (walking on treadmill or outside.. ) most days of the week.. strength train atleast 2 times a week..recently added calcium, vitamin D and fish oil to my diet and I do notice a difference in my energy level.

Personal Information:
We live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.


Other Information:
I highly recommend the book "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Dr. Northrup.. she is a OBGYN so she totally understands women's bodies and helps us celebrate our sometimes difficult journey through perimenopause and menopause.. Heck.. read ALL of her books.. I have and I feel so nurtured and I appreciate my body so much more.

She has spoken on Oprah and PBS many times.. you owe it to yourself to read this book. Also a wonderful book for any mom or expectant mom.. "Multiple Blessings" by Kate Gosselin.. (I don't think I'm spelling her name exactly right..)

the gal from the TLC show: Jon and Kate plus eight.. The book is about her and and jon's personal journey with her multiples pregnancy and life up to now. So fun to read!

It's great so see you back on SP!! Don't worry about a few steps backward! Let's see if we can figure out what's been making you crave all those carbs!! Are you allowing yourself enough good carbs every day? I have lots of great suggestions for healthy snacks including protein and/or good carbs!

I think we each gotta figure out what makes ourself tick, and what pushes the wrong buttons! It takes awhile of just being consistent to figure that out (I'm learning after being with SP since Jan). What works for me, might not work for everyone!
