I have been fighting my weight since I was 5 years old. Now as I enter the second half of this life I want to finally win this battle, so I can enjoy myself more as my husband and I enter into retirement. We want to do more traveling and just enjoying life while we can.

When I started with Spark I just wanted to lose weight but now that I am halfway to my weight loss goal I am finding out I want more than that. I enjoy exercising, walking in particular and will be doing at least 1 5K this year and who knows where that will lead maybe even longer distances.

I have found that when I eat healthy food I feel better and have more energy.

My Goals:
I want to finally get this weight off yet again and keep it off for good. I'm tired of fighting it and doing the yoyo thing. I joined SP May 2009, but didn't really get started seriously until late September.

My Program:
I plan to go slow and steady like the tortoise. Eating less, excersing more, and drinking more water and tea.

Personal Information:
My husband and I live out in the country on 20 acres in NW Missouri close to Smithville Lake with our female lab/pointer mix pup(12 years old but I still call her a pup) named Sadie. We are winter snowbirds that spend 3 months at Powell Park Marina on Lake Sam Rayburn in East Texas fishing.

I still work part-time when we are home.

I like to knit, crochet, and do decorative painting.

Other Information:
We love to travel in our 5th wheel and have taken some wonderful trips and had some great adventures during our 28 years of marriage. And yes our dog goes everywhere with us.

You are a great daughter and you did right by your dad in his final time on earth. Your family would be proud of you. Now he is with them again. emoticon

PJ, I have wondered about the protein powders but one can't get any small containers. Good to see your comment on the thread. I might try the adding cool whip to my Atkins shake. I like the vanilla and chocolate ones. I do keep them in the frig. so wouldn't be too hard to get done.

Hope you can decide on a 5th wheel. We had begun looking for a new TT and just can't find one that we like as well as our. Now that it's been repaired, the guy told us it's made very well and we won't get the same quality with the new ones. So glad we chose to repair. It's a hard decision to buy from the lot or order one as you want it. Good luck.

Yes, I know you told me to never leave again. But, hey, sorry, I'm that kind of girl. :o( I am still struggling with my weight and health but only 30 more pounds to goal. Back on the low carb wagon. I guess you can say I cherish you guys as real friends. The saying goes that real friends can be away for long periods of time and when they get back together it's like no time has passed. At least this is what I hope. I can not promise I will stay committed to typing but it is what I want.
