After many attempts to lose weight with no long term results, I stopped trying.
I joined Spark in July 2008 and by Christmas had lost 20 pounds! Following the Spark way really does work! In 2009 I started sluffing off exercise, eating more, making poor choices.
By March 2011, I had gained all 20 pounds back and was very discouraged. I decided it was never too late to begin fresh, as now I am very aware of my trigger points. Back to calorie counting and exercising.
When we lose something, we want to find it. So if I lose weight, then won't I end up finding it again? It's better to RELEASE the weight, never to return!
I like that perspective - because I don't want to go backwards! Once it's off, I want it to stay off!
I'd like this year to be the year of change!
*Be more consistent with my prayer life - making God #1 priority.
*Have more energy to keep up with my growing boys.
*Ward off diabetes that tends to run in the family.
*Get to a healthy weight, so that I can be all that God wants me to be.
First: Watch portions, use Nutrition Tracker when needed.
Second: Exercise consistently. Not just physically, but spiritually as well!
Third: Drink water!
Fourth: Change perspective of "diet" to "better choices".
I'm a 37 yr old homeschooling mom of 4 boys - ages 12, 11, 10, and 3. My heart's desire is to follow Jesus. My husband Phil and I are training to be missionary pilots!
I like reading Christian historical fiction, playing word games like Scattergories, walking with the boys, spending time with family, alone time with hubby, going to library, playing piano....
