Back in 2015 and 2016 after a long and great journey! Been a while since I updated my page or posted and there has been a lot of water under the bridge, but I have lost 64 pounds, have a whole new program and attitude and want to share my experiences and success here on SparkPeople, which I have been a member of for 8 years! Stay tuned!

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my corner of SparkPeople.com! Looking for THE ANSWER? (I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV,) I am not a guru or self help icon; but this I do know: The only way to permanently lose and keep off weight is by changing your LIFESTYLE permanently (from inactive to active, start EXERCISING!) and to eat properly in moderation, healthfully and nutritionally.

My Goals:
To continue my exercise and healthy eating habits and lifestyle permanently (nearly 5 years and counting!) strive to live a healthy and happy life. It's the journey, not the event itself. Exercise, a variety of physical activities along with healthy food choices will extend and make my life better---happy and healthy.

Exercise and healthy low calorie eating, primarily vegetable protein and vegetables in order to reach a goal weight of 220-225 lbs by losing 40 more pounds and reduce my BMI (body mass index) to a lower, more healthy value.

Specific Goals 2016

1. Meditate every day
2. Continue my low carb program started 5/26/14.
3. Continue workout program - Daily 5 mile jog/runs (weather permitting.) With winter, add TurboFire; Gin Miller Step program; Zumba and treadmill.
4. Continue Weight and strength training 3 times per week using weights an Bands; increase when appropriate
5. Continue to measure all food.
6. Continue plan & prepare


My Program:
Walking, jogging 4-5 miles a day weather permitting, I also do Chalene Johnson's Turbo Fire and Gin Miller's Step Reebok and DVDs. For strength training and resistance training along with 45-60 mins. of cardio intensity to raise my target heart rate to 125-135 beats per minute. Use of a heart rate monitor watch! (I use the Mio Alpha 2 HRM which is strapless and has Bluetooth BLE for use with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone!)

    A spectacular day on the Air Line Trail! The temperature was 45 degrees F and not a cloud in the sky! So nice to be outdoors in early January! It makes Winter almost tolerable to not be freezing off my arse. Stats: 5.23 mi distance, 18:47 min/mi. avg. pace 740 calories burned, 1:38:12 time.
