MY STORY: Before college I never had to worry about what I ate or if I was getting enough exercise. I was an avid softball player and had always been active. I also had always had an athletic curvy physique that I liked and felt very confident with. However, once I stopped playing softball and started college the weight quickly piled on. I noticed In October of 2004 I decided it was time to take off the extra pounds that I have added during the first years of college by eating way too much and not getting enough exercise. By May 2005 I lost a little over 50 pounds and reached my goal weight. Until recently I had done a good job of keeping the majority the weight off and staying in a routine that had become part of my lifestyle. Over the first year of being married I have fallen out of my normal routine while trying to juggle my own schedule as well as my husbands. It has become a lot harder to eat healthy when I live with someone that has a very high metabolism and can eat whatever he wants. Its also a lot harder to be motivated to get to the gym when I love just spending time just hanging out with my husband. I have hit a breaking point and I am now ready to go back to being where I once was at. I want to feel good about myself again and I want to make my changes a lifestyle. Time to start working hard....WISH ME LUCK!!!

♥I want to get back in shape and feel good about myself again. This means shedding the extra pounds I'm carrying around and toning up. Over my first year of marriage I have been steadily gaining weight and I now know that this is not the direction for my life that I want to continue in.
♥I follow the eating program of weight watchers. I have found that using the flex plan prescribed by them is how I get the best results. This plan gives you a daily points value to eat and each food has a points value per saving. Points values are based on calories, fat, and fiber. This plans allows be to eat some of my favorite things in moderations, gives me bonus points every week, and allows me a lot of flexibility and variety. I also only weigh in once a week, which really helps me to not be too crazy about the number.
♥My workout plan includes going to the gym 4-5 days a week and doing the elliptical trainer for 30-35 minutes and than doing strength training on a rotating basis. I also try to just be active and get as much additional exercise whenever possible.
♥I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley
(the suburbs of Los Angeles). Besides my time spent going to college in Orange County I have live in the "valley" my whole life. I love living here since all my friends and family are local and I love having everything within reach. I currently live in Encino, CA.
♥I currently live with my husband, Joe (whom I've been married to since July 7, 2007) and our 1.5 year old Yorkshire Terrier Puppy, Lucy. And our two turtles, Squirt and Luigi.
♥I am a middle school/ high school History teacher.
♥One for my favorite things to do is to laugh. I believe a good laugh can cure anything.....I love people with a good sense of humor!!!
♥My favorite animals are Dolphins. I absolutely love them!
♥I love swimming, going to the beach, going to Disneyland and other amusement parks, shopping, traveling, bike riding, hiking, and horseback riding.
♥My best friend and I recently decided to take on the challenge of running in the Nike+ Human Race 10k on August 31, 2008. We are really looking forward to this event as we are hoping it is the kick off in doing a series of these types of things. We think that the idea and training needed to accomplish running a 10k will be a huge motivator to keep us on track in our daily lives.....As running is not something either of us are looking forward to, please pray for us!!! LOL We need all the help we can get at this point!

Hi there! I'm on the Married Women team, and live in SoCal too. Great photos of your wedding! My daughter also married in 2007 (pics in my Spark gallery). How's the training for the Nike race coming along? Hang in there- I know how up and down life can be, believe me...
