Taking AIM on 2014!

I've been an "active" member of Sparkpeople since July 2010 and have lost over 100 pounds. One of the reasons I have had so much success it being a part of team-based challenges. They provide accountability, encouragement, motivation, camaraderie and push me slightly out of my comfort zone.

Jan. 2 - Ahoy! It's almost time for BEYOND THE SCALE and I'll be setting sail on the good ship ENCOURAGER with my fellow Pink Pirates! We are going to be focusing on small lifestyle changes on the journey to "Health & Fitness".

This has kept me making slow but steady progess toward "Health & Fitness". In 2014 I'm privileged to be part of a NEW challenge called BEYOND THE SCALE. This challenge runs in 10 week quarters and focuses on nutrition, fitness, wellness, motivation and education which when incorporated into our lifestyle result in weight loss.

My Goals:
1) Lose 10 pounds in BTS Q2.
2) Get 45000 steps a week minimum.
3) Strength Train 2 x a week.
4) Get to ONEDERLAND.

My Program:
I am eating within my calorie range and exercising 40-60 minutes a day. I continue to cook healthy foods and widen my food selections to include more fruits, vegetables, grains, and lean proteins. I track my food and fitness faithfully.

Personal Information:
I am married with one grown son, three dachshunds and an african grey parrot.

As you settle into the routine & joy of living rurally..there will be many challenges of course..
I always had to laugh at folks that would move here from town & one of their first discoveries was NO Deliver Food!! What??? How can you eat...well...hmmm...duh YOU cook it!! What a thought! hee heee
