Take great strides and know you have lived!
I am 36 years old and live with my husband and 2 children aged 12 and 13. My oldest daughter recently left to attend college last September. I am on a journey to lose weight and develop my fitness. I am 36 years old and live with my husband and 2 children aged 12 and 13. My oldest daughter recently left to attend college last September. I am on a journey to lose weight and develop my fitness. I'm reclaiming my life and no longer want to be a slave to food. I am conscious and in control! I came across Spark people by accident and haven't looked back since. It's a great place to share tips and motivate one another to lose weight. Losing weight for me has been about changing bad habits and being aware of them. It's a long term goal for me :-) My weight problem stemmed from a inactive life style at the beginning of my writing career. My ideas for a story were so gripping I would sit down to write from morning till night and, while I typed, I ate and ate to fuel my creations. I finished writing my children's science fiction trilogy 28 pounds heavier! I cannot stand taking pictures of myself being overweight but I have one or two that are so horrible they motivate me to lose weight. I love the feeling of a toned body. It makes me feel good about myself. We are alchemists: We can burn fat and develop muscle! Fruit and veg have become my friends. Chocolate and crisps are not so friendly so I will see much less of them from now on, because good friends don't try to make you look bad! MY PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. Ran 5k 2/12/07 Time: 34 minutes 2.Ran 10k 23/03/08 Time 59:56 3. Ran a half Marathon 06/04/08 Time: 2:13:59 4. I cycled 1000k over a period of 6 months. 5. Ran/walked 5k in The Race of Life on 4th May 2008! DONE! 6. Ran 5k 23/05/08 completed. Time: 26.30 7. Ran 10k on my birthday 06/06/08 completed. Time: 55.30 8. Ran 5k 8/07/08. Time: 25.45 (This is a personal Best so far!) 9. Ran 5k 28/09/08. Time 25.35 (I beat my PB by 10 seconds! lol!) 10. Half marathon on 30th November 2008 (2:16:27) 11. To practice yoga or pilates at least 5 times a week. Run at least 2 times a week. Walk whenever I can.

II'm working full time and studying 3 different courses in the evenings. I hope to become a teacher one day. Height: 5ft 5in
Other Information:
I'm a true romantic and I love reading especially before bedtime. I don't like watching too much television either, unless it's a really good film. I love a good tear jerker. lol! And I love to look at things positively.
