Well, here we are. Again. I love the SP programs and know that they work. I just need to do MY part to MAKE them work.

Not much has changed since I re-joined about a year ago. I HAVE lost 22 pounds, but have noticed that I'm slowly sneaking back to some old habits. I have yo-yo dieted for so many years, my body is in limbo and doesn't know WHAT to think. Instead of diving head-on into some "plan", I'm going to, once again, track my foods and activity here on SparkPeople for the rest of the year and January and be accountable. To myself.

I have three great kids. One married, one headed to grad school next fall and one hopefully headed to college next fall. I want to be around to thoroughly enjoy them more )and maybe some grandkids in the future!). I also don't want to be a burden to them; being too large to do things for myself, or too disabled to get around on my own. I was also diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back, pelvis, right hip and right knee; mild situational depression; as well as vascular insufficiency in my lower legs - this is actually improving with moving around more and drinking GALLONS of water. I'm too young for support hose!! Not really, but I need to make the changes that will make these diagnoses less severe.

The fridge gets cleaned out on Sunday and I start by replacing some old favorites with some new, healthier things that I hope will become favorites. I plan to plan ahead and stick to the plan. I want to cook on the weekends and have lots of homemade meals instead of fast foods.

My 17 year old daughter has some chronic health issues that may benefit from a healthier eating style. She's on board with me and excited to try some new foods and recipes. She will be home-schooled this last semester of high school due to her illnesses.

I'm also headed back to college. I'm working toward my Master's in Christian Counseling. I'm very excited - and a bit nervous - about this new endeavor, but i know that it is His plan for my future.
