"You are beautiful. Your true beauty lies in becoming yourself."
"Aim for better every day, never perfect right away."
I have a good life and have always been a pretty healthy eater, but haven't been consistently, physically active for a couple of years. It's time to get motivated and make a commitment and set attainable goals. I am hoping this site will help me to do this!
I am pretty tall (6 foot) and tend to not look as heavy as I am. This is both a blessing and a curse, as I put on a lot of weight in the past few years without really realizing it. Now, all of the sudden, the weight is really showing and I can't wait to got rid of it! I have never really been overweight before this and it is hard to think of myself that way. Some days I feel really good and am happy with how I look, but other times it is a whole other story.
My favorite motivational quote right now is this:
“Real change is an inside job. It starts with our attitude, our efforts, and our energy. It takes intention and action on a daily basis.”
Another quote that has been very meaningful and true to my life is this:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
~ Marianne Williamson
This is something I have struggled with and continue to struggle with in my life. But, I am getting there!
Thanks for reading this and have a wonderful day! Feel free to add me as a friend or contact me if you need some support!!
I know this says I've been a member of this site for a few years, and that is technically true. I joined this site but never used it at all, other than to read a couple of articles.
My true start date was on January 2, 2012! I have been going strong since then and plan to keep it up!!
I am tracking my food and nutrition daily and aiming for 1200-1550 calories a day. I'm also drinking 8 cups of water a day - which is a huge change for me!!
I am doing cardio and strength training at least 3 times a week. This is pretty much all done at home and seems to be going well so far!
Tracking my progress online has been a great motivator so far and has really kept me accountable and on track with my goals!!

Happy Almost Spring!! This coming Tuesday marks the Spring Equinox and in preparation for the first day of the new season I would like to wish you a brand new start, never-ending moments of poise and balance and a joyful tip over on the scale to the side of light. I wish you a new dawn, an eternal youth and a morning star to wish on. Whatever battles you are fighting, whatever stresses may come your way, may they melt away with the winter and may you be granted a time of new light and a new life where your wildest dreams come true. ~ Michelle
"Celebrating the Spring Equinox: The spring equinox is one of the four great solar festivals of the year. Day and night are equal, poised and balanced, but about to tip over on the side of light. The spring equinox is sacred to dawn, youth, the morning star and the east. The Saxon goddess, Eostre (from whose name we get the direction East and the holiday Easter) is a dawn goddess, like Aurora and Eos. Just as the dawn is the time of new light, so the vernal equinox is the time of new life." - from http://www.schooloftheseasons.com/spring.h

Thanks for reading and commenting on my Blog. Hope you do it - easy to cut and paste and then put in your in your own answers instead of mine. Have fun!
I enjoyed reading your spark page and congrats on your great weight loss this month -My highest weight was where you are starting now and I can relate to your statements that sometimes you never felt over weight but then all of a sudden it started to show . Good for you to make the decision to start using the great tools on SP to help you realize and track your progress to your goals.
It has taken me several years and several "starts" for me but I am finally down to a weight that I feel is much healthier for me and a weight I never dreamed was possible and by sticking with SP tools - I plan to make this the last time I yo-yo back up in weight . I have added you as a spark friend and will be routing for you along your journey.
