Beth & Me
Retirement party at church - 2005
My name is Carole; I am 68 years old and retired from the music ministry at my church. My hobbies are playing the piano and reading - Christian fiction and non-fiction, and also traditional or cozy mysteries. I've been happily married for 42 years, and have two grown children who are still a big part of my life.
My goals are simply to eat healthy, drink lots of water, and exercise - instead of focusing on weight loss. The weight loss will come.
(1) Track food on the nutrition counter.
(2) Increase water, fiber, fruits & veggies.
(3) Cook frequently from JoAnna Lund's cookbooks. Her recipes are healthy, easy to prepare, and delicious!
(1) Exercise 4-5 days each week, using elliptical trainer and recumbent bike in our basement.
(2) Use Walk away the Pounds DVDs. Leslie Sansone and I are becoming very good friends.
Without God in the equation, none of this will happen.
My husband suffers from diabetes, heart disease and fibromyalgia; I'm just trying to take care of him and stay healthy.
Things I like:
Figure skating (watching, that is!)
Favorite movies - To Kill a Mockingbird / The Music Man / The Sound of Music / Big Fish / Apollo 13 / Steel Magnolias / Seabiscuit / Shenandoah
Traditional country music - Chet Atkins / Floyd Cramer / The Oak Ridge Boys / The Statler Brothers / Don Williams / Allison Krauss
Folk music - The New Christy Minstrels / The Brothers Four / The Kingston Trio
Favorite books - A Redbird Christmas / Tender Victory / To Kill a Mockingbird / Anne of Green Gables / Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire / Fresh Faith / In His Steps
Murder mysteries by - Erle Stanley Gardner / Elizabeth George / Rhys Bowen / M.C. Beaton / Ed McBain / Faye Kellerman

Hi Carole. It was great to see your comment on my blog. It's been a while since we have "talked". I will post before and after pictures for sure. In the meantime I'm busy de-cluttering, cleaning and re-decorating our Guest room. Hope to finish it tomorrow. Did you see wht I did to my music room? Found curtains with song birds and music on them. They were sheer so I lined them with white tiers and no one can see in at night. Got a new quilt for the futon and used it as a slip cover. I'm doing the same with the futon in the guest room but with blue, yellow, light green and brown country pattern. As with our bedroom, I used blue valances. Anyway, that's my Friday project. I de-cluttered last night.

Love the Piano*Lady handle! I'm am avid singer and my church choir director is one of the most important people in my life, though I'd be embarrassed to tell him. We are in a pastor search and more than one person has said, "We need someone like him", referring to our Minister of Music. All my life I've connected with people through music, and with God at every phase of my life through music. I can't say enough good things about people like you have devoted their lives to this wonderful calling.
