I'm doing it!

My kids are grown and almost on their own. It's time to take care of me and my DH. We want a long, active, and healthy life together in our (almost) empty nest.
With a healthy diet, a gym membership, and a lot of physical labor, I've lost over 40 pounds since I maxed about 5 years ago. But I'm not done yet. I want to lose another 25 and I believe I can do it!

My Goals:
I want to feel good when I am old; and I want to get very old.


My Program:
1. Eating whole grains, fruits, and veggies.
2. Starting dinner with a huge salad.
3. Using smaller plates.
4. Going to the gym 2-3 times a week for strength training.
5. Walking daily.



Personal Information:
I live in Central Pennsylvania with my husband. I have two grown children. DD lives with me while attending college to add teacher certification to her degree. DS just earned B.S., started his career, and lives about 5 miles from me. I also have a bonus daughter who needed a safe place to stay and has become part of our family.

Other Information:
Before being a Mom, I was a mathematician. I've recently pulled out my old books and started studying again.

HI Phyllis, I am trying to get back on track. Have been successful for the past 5 days! I'd love to have someone to check in with. I'll try to post every day. I really want to get back to where I was 2 years ago. I've gained 30 lbs. eating too much sugar. Hope you will join me. I'm using Triple Threat team blog starting today. Have a sparked weekend. Sorry I've been such a slacker; My friend was very ill for many months. We're doing his memorial service in a couple of weeks and am hoping to move forward.
