I am not on a diet. I never will be. I am making an effort to change my whole life and way of thinking.

I strongly believe in living healthy and being healthy...and so far so good.

It all really started on December 2nd of 2006...I went to my company's Christmas party. I have never had a problem with my weight before, ever. I'm big, yeah, I know that. But it wasn't until late last year that I felt like something needed to change. I finally started to feel like I was missing out on life because of my size. I felt uncomfortable at the party and while everybody else was dancing and having fun I just sat at the end of the table feeling, well, miserable.

I hiked my butt to the gym and started working out like a fanatic. I got rid of all of the junk food in the house and started buying as many fruits and veggies as possible. I am SHOCKED how much I've changed. Now, down about 75lbs I am healthier, more energetic and so much happier.

I had the pleasure of hiring a trainer who I have connected with very well. She keeps me going through the tough spots and keeps me inspired. I KNOW I can do this.

I also started the couch-to-5k running program and now I run on a regular basis. Running has become this new outlet for me. To date I have completed more 5ks than I can count on my fingers, a 5 miler, 10k, 12k, 15k, and two 1/2 marathon2. In the future I'd really like to run marathons and maybe even beyond!

My Program:
Healthy food and lots of exercise. Moderation, moderation, moderation. I don't like to limit myself to what I can eat...just how much. Portion sizes are everything to me.

Personal Information:
I grew up in a small town in Oregon and now live in a really small town in Oregon with my husband, greyhound and two cats.

Other Information:
My favorite inspirational book is Ultra Marathon Man by Dean Karnazes. Even if you're a non-runner this book is well worth reading!
