I reached my start weight last time...so now is the time to start new.

I gained my weight back, and now I am motivated to start again with Sparkpeople. It worked the first time, and I know it will work again. I am someone who needs to track her food, otherwise my body loves to weigh it current weight. For my body it is like money on the bank, for me it is too much. Time to crack the safe and get rid of those savings.

My Goals:
To feel good in my old jeans and to live a long healthy life. To feel slim and trim and to get that strut walk back. According to Seaglassqueen, I should start the strut first and that supports the mind. Ok, ok now I am strutting! and loving my body. It deserves it!

My Program:
I am increasing the fitness program, and strength training and eating less in the evenings. I read Dr. Fuhrman's book Eat to Live a while ago. It made sense but I guess I wasn't ready yet. Now I am ready and looking forward to following his plan.

Personal Information:
Nicki, from Phoenix, Arizona. I lived 36 years in Switzerland.
Upon returning to my hometown, Phoenix, I finally got to finish my B.S. in Psychology at ASU. I enjoyed all my classes and especially enjoyed the youth. They are so focused and wonderful.

Other Information:
I believe in the good in the world. I refuse to listen to negative information and I believe in myself. I love living in Phoenix again, and hope to never leave Arizona again.

Aloha Nicki:
I'm now into my third month on the Dr. F. plan and those cravings have gone and I have lost the final 10-15 lbs that were just hanging on. Am shooting for another 5 lbs before my birthday in November. It's a great plan (maybe not for everyone), but for me, it is working. Once I get rid of another 5, I will begin to add just a little back and see how I do with the maintenance plan. One thing I have learned, for me at least, those nasty 'white' carbs do not belong in my food plan at all!! How are you doing with your plan?
Aloha, June
P.S.: Thanks for the note.

"Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"

Unfortunately, have some bad news to report. My husband suffered a stroke on June 15th, but good news...is recovering very nicely. Seems that a stroke that would have killed the rest of us (clot completely stopped flow of blood through basilar artery)...wasn't as bad for Charlie as he had a birth defect, where that artery was ALWAYS very narrow, and the brain sent out other blood vessels (collateral circulation) to take care of getting the blood to this very important part of the brain. Thank you, God!

We both missed, of course, the trip to Germany, Italy, and Switzerland last week with my 82 students, but was able to replace us with wonderful colleagues/friends and the trip went on without a hitch.

I am now hoping that our lives will return to normal, and we are both eating healthy and when he is permitted to, Charlie will continue with exercise.

Keep him in your prayers please.

Have a great summer...wonderful 4th of July! emoticon emoticon emoticon
