My name is Debra. I'm a 48 year old single mom of three young men and a NYC public school science teacher from Brooklyn, NY! I've packed on about 40 pounds in the last six years or so and I am hoping it doesn't take me that long to get rid of it :/
Hey, I'm about in the same boat as you. Teacher, grown kids, excess weight. I want to run too! I started with my first baby step: a pair of dedicated shoes just for running. My next step is to warm up on the treadmill, and start getting my stamina up. By the time I start school in 2 weeks, I hope to be running the park trail. I plan on stopping by after work every day to challenge myself at the park. Good luck on your journey, and have an awesome school year!!!
