I'm here to get my life under control... the eating/drinking/exercise portion, anyway. I'm days away from 30 (update 7/9/10: I now AM 30. Ugh.) and am finding it harder and harder to stay in shape and lose an extra pound or two. How I miss the days of my early 20s when I'd "diet" (i.e. live on Ramen noodles and vodka)and "exercise" (by that I mean put on some cute workout gear and hang out at the Rec Center) for a week and be down three dress sizes. Those were the days ;)
I started this whole let's-get-back-into-shape in June 2010. I signed up for my first 5K and started training. Amazingly, I didn't die. And to my utter astonishment, I finished under my (extremely slow) goal time... I came in at 33:54. A few weeks later I began a Boot Camp Challenge class. I'm now completely obsessed with it... so fun! I've also been eating SO much healthier. Does anyone else find it kind of like a game, with the food tracking thing? You know, let's see how much food we can possibly cram into our daily calorie allotment? I do. haha. So far, so good.
My biggest vice in life is wine. Not sure how that's going to fit into this new lifestyle of mine. I can't do moderation with wine. Sorry, just can't. Don't give me a glass, pass over the bottle. Please and thank you. Guess I'll have to limit myself to once a week.
And now since I'm so creative, I'm going to copy and paste, word for word, the "About Me" section from my facebook page. 'Cause I know you're dying to know more about me. Right? Right. :)
I truly love my life and enjoy each and everyday, I have incredible friends and family, I'm ridiculously impatient, I talk fast... and tend to talk over people, I get bored easily, I lived in St. Louis long enough to have a slight (and quite unfortunate) accent, I love to laugh, I'm a happy easygoing person but have been called a bitch on more than one occasion, volleyball is my favorite sport... especially sand, I hate nature but I love snow, I spoil my two longhaired dachshunds like they're children, I've become much more of an optimist lately, I have a ridiculous obsession with sushi and designer jeans, my nickname in highschool was "Smiley", I have an amazing husband, I wear heels everyday, I'm a perfectionist (which has its faults), I'm obsessed with real estate, most days I would prefer to be on a beach somewhere... although I'm terrified of water, I'm the biggest people pleaser I know, I'm generally quiet, I drink far too much wine, I'm beginning to love the gym and running again, I have a serious problem with the snooze button, people with bad grammar really bother me, I love hats, my favorite color is green, I'm really looking forward to my thirties, I avoid conflict at all costs, I love lazy summer days by the pool, I really want to go to Europe, I'm a total germaphobe and never leave home without hand sanitizer, I have an incredible outlook on life and can't wait to see where it takes me.

Yeah! The scale is not moving anywhere...and it sucks because I'm working out 6 days a week, 30 mins...and also staying at the low end of my calorie range. I just need more protein. But that's about it. I was on here when I was 18 (back in the day) and it seemed so much easier! Crap! Getting old SUCKS!

Hey chick! I added you to my sparkpage "friends" because you inspire me. You seem very cool (like myself..haha) and very similar to what I'm doing...(bootcamp classes...cardio...same calorie range...weight loss goals).
I've hit a wall this week! Hopefully it will get better!
