A Whole New Challenge!

In April 2010 I joined Sparkpeople. I was very dedicated to making life changes that would improve my health, fitness and hopefully increase my fertility.

I have been overweight my whole life. I tried every diet and system out there. I knew everything there was to know about losing weight and healthy eating. But I did not practice what I preached.

Over the year I lost about 25 pounds. That was 25% of my ultimate 100 pound goal and over 10% body weight lost. It may not seem like a lot to some but I was very proud that in one year I lost weight and did not gain any!

One of my ultimate reasons to losing weight was so that I could get pregnant and hopefully sustain a pregnancy. I had suffered multiple losses since 2006 and since 2008 had not been able to fall pregnant again.

In February 2011 I discovered I was pregnant but it wasn't meant to be. However, silver lining is that some miscarriages will boost fertility and I conceived a new pregnancy at the end of February (Happy birtdhay to me!)

UPDATE: She is here! My baby girl arrived 6 weeks early on Oct 8. She weighed a healthy 5lbs and 14oz. I had probably developed gestational diabetes and this is why she was big. She was and still is very healthy and after a 3 week stay in the Neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) she came home on Oct 30!

I am not quite back on track but I can see it in my near future. I look forward to logging and losing!

I am trying to follow the Spark nutrional guide and enter in what I eat and hold myself accountable. I am also excercising regularly and working hard to not give up sp easily!

I am from SW Ontario and have been married for 8 years. I have been overweight all my life. Currently I am staying at home with my baby girl. I will be returning to part time studies in the new year and have a yeat off from my job!

Thank YOU for stopping by ! Please enjoy your blessings, and give the little lass a big hug and kiss. I'm so happy for you having gone the same route but never did have the successful ending. I found my in wonderful bundle of love that came my way when I was not expecting to find that kind of joy. That was 18 years ago and she has graduated and moved down to Tenn. to live near her birth mom. Merry Christmas !
