Hello, Hola, Ciao, Aloha, Bonjour and any other salutation you speak/know! My name is Lanie. I am a 32 yo Philadelphian who is on a serious mission to lose a lot of weight! My goal is to lose 150 pounds by next July 4th and have a party celebrating my independence form my outer fat girl! Not sure how realistic that is but hey..a girl can dream can't she? lol
As I have been advised by a few brilliant folks here, big long-term goals are good but, its best to break it down into smaller chunks. So as I dig into myself, this site, my goals, and devise a plan of attack on this fat.; I ask for all the support and encouragement you can muster, as I will be cheering you guys on as well.
I when I was 29 - I went on this "attack of the fat" due to my proclamation that I "don;t want to be fat in my 30s". Well, as I said, I am 32 and here so...ya see where that went right? RIGHT So no more frustratedly driven proclamations, setting huge unrealistic goals that come crashing down, and setting myself up for failure from the start without even knowing it. I am starting small, and building big, to accomplish my goals and reclaim my life. I will educate myself, focus, and take it one day at a time. THAT is my proclamation to myself and to all of you. :-)
1) Fit a size 24
2) Fit a size 22
3) Fit a size 18
From there, it depends on me, my body, and how much more I feel comfortable with losing, as I do NOT desire to be reed thin for my height.
*I have begun educating myself on food, fitness, and emotional health while losing weight.
*Started paying attention to what I eat by tracking my food.
*Opting to get off the bus early and walk part of the way to work.
*Exercising little by little each day to build my endurance.

Hi and welcome to SparkPeople! If you're serious about losing weight, you've come to the right place. SparkPeople gives you all the tools, resources, and opportunities for support that you will need. I've been here since the end of May. I highly recommend that you use the nutrition and fitness trackers (exercise is a critical element of any weight loss program) and become an active member of your "class" team (which you'll find on your SparkPage). Teams are where you'll make friends and build support networks. In addition, there is a ton of information/articles, addressing almost any health concern you can think of, your own SparkPage to develop, and opportunities to blog about your journey to a healthier you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to drop by my SparkPage and leave me a message.
Good luck with your weight loss goals!

The sun is setting and I believe it's time for me to go on my walk but I wanted to see how you were doing today, are you feeling overwhelmed with all of the tools? Or is everything on track? Or something in between? Well I'm thinking of you today and I hope everything is off to a great start for the week, Kelly
