Giving up is NOT an option!

The main reason I want to get healthier is because I have a family history of diabetes and I know I'm at a high risk of getting it myself.

I was never thin after the age of 10. In high school I always averaged anywhere between 170 and 175 lbs. Yea, I'd like to know what it's like to be "normal" but I also want to know what it feels like to be healthy. I was starting to find out but my inner ''fat girl'' took over. It's a struggle every day to shut her up and do the right thing. ...

**Yes, I became a SP motivator last year but I'm not the shining example of health and fitness. Yes I occasionally eat pizza, burgers, chips, etc. and I don't feel guilty about it. I do what works for me and what I know I will be able to do for a long time to come. I just make adjustments as I go along.

I'd like to start running more. I'm slowly working myself up to it. What a rush! Who knew?!

I also want to try to learn to like strength training. That's my least favorite thing to do.

My ultimate goal is to get down to 140 lbs. I've never been lower than 170 in my adult life.

My Program:
I am staying within the recommended daily calorie range of 1220-1550.

I also do cardio at least 3x a week and strength training 2x a week.

I just came across your page by accident. I felt like I was reading about me a little. lol My grandma died from diabetes when she was 61, my aunt when she was 57 and my mom has had it for 28 years. I see how crippling this disease is and it makes me want to be a healthier person. I don't want to follow in their footsteps. If you want I can check in on you every now and then to see how you are doing, kinda like pen pals. lol Best of luck on everything!

I understand how you are feeling. Two years ago I dropped 40lbs, and almost all of it has found me again. I get frustrated that I have to lose the same weight over again. But you know what? We both can do this! We have the know how and the desire to take care of our bodies and be fit and healthy. Keep your head up, don't dwell on what weight you have gained, start thinking about each pound you are losing. Keep your head up!

If giving up is truly not an option; then you CAN do this. Don't look at what you've gained, just take a small step and then another and then another. What's the worst that can happen? You fall back a couple of days? Okay, then just start taking those steps again.

YOU CAN DO THIS. I can feel your will through cyberspace.

Good luck. emoticon
