I joined Spark People in 10/09 to learn healthy habits and lose weight. I had lost 12# but gained it back last year ('12) after a very long bout with walking pneumonia, bronchitis and allergies. My exercise program really suffered during this time. I started SP again this year because it works. I have lost 9 so far and will not stop until I reach my goal.

My Goals:
Work on my health from all angles and gradually lose 18#.


My Program:
1_ Do the South Beach diet, combined with Spark People, until I reach my goals. Medium term: lose 3 more # by summer.

2_210 or more fitness minutes/week. How?
Do exercise video 2 x week; do yoga 3 x week; hike/bike/walk at all other times.

3_Work to have 1/2 of my plate fruits/veggies at almost every meal.

4_Spark People Every Day!

5_No more than 3/4 to 1 C carbs day.

6_Reduce alcohol.

Although I joked about why I'm wanting to loose weight. Your answer is also why I'm here! "I would like to start my 50th year being much healthier and more fit. It's not longer about image. It's about longevity."
