Hi Petalia, I first dried things from my garden ... oregano, wild oregano, rosemary, sliced calamansi lime. Success! Since then I dried some dill weed from the farmers' market, a couple of apples, more wild oregano, and the peel from a giant tangerine -- washed and cut into thin slices, which I plan to use in tea. When the peel was dried like that it became very sweet. Love having the dehydrator. Even more useful than I imagined. I got a Nesco-American Harvest brand one; much less costly than Excalibur. Found it at a local Bed, Bath & Beyond (cheaper than Amazon) and was able to use a 20% off coupon. Now I'm sounding like an advertisement. 369 days ago
Thanks for comments on my blog about SAD. Just Google, lights and SAD and you will find lots of options. You don't have to spend a lot. I sit it beside my computer when I am answering email, etc. for about 30 minutes in the morning. I also do yoga daily and try to get outside as much as I can on sunny days.
