    Hi Petalia,
I first dried things from my garden ... oregano, wild oregano, rosemary, sliced calamansi lime. Success! Since then I dried some dill weed from the farmers' market, a couple of apples, more wild oregano, and the peel from a giant tangerine -- washed and cut into thin slices, which I plan to use in tea. When the peel was dried like that it became very sweet. Love having the dehydrator. Even more useful than I imagined. I got a Nesco-American Harvest brand one; much less costly than Excalibur. Found it at a local Bed, Bath & Beyond (cheaper than Amazon) and was able to use a 20% off coupon. Now I'm sounding like an advertisement.
