You are very perceptive about my yoga practice. For reasons I still don't clearly understand, my regular Adamantine practice brought on anxiety as opposed to any other response. After trying to ignore it, I finally had to recognize it and step away for a while. I am easing my way back with a very slow yin practice at least once a week, adding a regular asana practice periodically.
This past late spring and early summer I completed TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) treatment. By mid December I was off antidepressants for the first time in over 15 years. I know during the darkest days of my depression, yoga kept me alive. I think I need to figure out how to forge a new relationship with a practice that could serve me now. Hope at least some of this makes sense. Thanks for your comments and concerns. They are helping me as I work towards the practice that works with me.

    Thanks for the Goodie!

You know what? I can only do 12 push ups at a time. If I do 12, then I'll only be able to do 8 the next set, then maybe 4 the third set. Then I'm toast. However, if I do only 3 or 4 push ups in a set, I can do them all day long. 25 sets of 4 make 100.

I had to break those exercises up considerably to do 100 of each one. It took 90 sets to get my 400 reps.
I did squats in sets of 6 to 8. Inverted rows in sets of 4 and 5. Push ups in sets of 3 and 4. Sit ups in sets of 6 and 8.

I'm gonna amp it up by increasing the reps per set now.

The 400 Challenge is to do the 400 reps in any number of sets, any number of reps per set, in any order. I would do 4 push ups, then 8 squats, then I could do 4 more push ups. I let one muscle group rest while I worked another.

I'm already working on my strategy for the next 400 Challenge, about 5 weeks from now. I want to decrease the time it takes me to complete the 400 by being able to do only 71 sets instead of 90. In 5 weeks, I'll be able to do push ups in sets of 5 or 6 maybe and I noticed that I could increase the number of reps of rowing per set pretty easily. Fewer over all sets will decrease my time considerably. I want to do the next challenge in under 30 minutes.

The training days between challenges certainly do have me doing amped up exercises with inclines, weights, etc. That's how I'm gonna be able to do more reps per set next time.
