Hello, my name is Tim. I've been very overweight all my, one of the biggest obstacles has been my tendency to isolate and shy away from family and friends. I have decided to put myself out there, be vulnerable and trust this leap of faith will lead something great. At this point I have not left my home for more than 2 years and not worked in 7 years. I weighed about 300 lbs when I was 18, kept gaining through my 20's until hitting 600 lbs at 30, now at almost 40 I am getting healthy. My highest weight was in 2012-2013 when I weighed between 700-800lbs, I lost some weight and as of January 2015 weigh 590lbs. God bless!

Weekends are wonderful!!!! But, they can also be a time for us to be challenged by events and situations that can sabotage our desires to live a healthy lifestyle. Here are some tips to help you have a healthier weekend:

**Moderate sugary and alcohol drinks. Many people fail to realize a good portion of their caloric intake comes from beverages. Whether sports drinks or sodas, sugary beverages do little to satisfy and could cause you to eat more. A John Hopkins University study revealed that individuals lost more weight over 5 months by eliminating calories from beverages rather than solid foods.

**Start a meal with salad or broth. Instead of diving right into the main course, begin your meal with a low-fat soup or salad. But pass on creamy soups or salads topped with heavy dressings. Eating the first course reduces the amount of food you will eat during the main course.
