Hello, my name is Tim. I've been very overweight all my, one of the biggest obstacles has been my tendency to isolate and shy away from family and friends. I have decided to put myself out there, be vulnerable and trust this leap of faith will lead something great. At this point I have not left my home for more than 2 years and not worked in 7 years. I weighed about 300 lbs when I was 18, kept gaining through my 20's until hitting 600 lbs at 30, now at almost 40 I am getting healthy. My highest weight was in April 2012 @ 730 lbs, I lost some weight and as of January 1st 2014 weigh 612 lbs. God bless!

So glad to hear you've started lifting some weights - all the info I've ever read advises to start with lightest weights - 5lb dumbells are exactly the right place to begin - you'll be really thrilled with how quickly your strength increases.
