Running away from my unhealthy lifestyle
I run, therefore I am a runner. It's been my activity of choice since 2009 but didn't fully take hold of me until late 2010. Since then I've found joy in running in all seasons including the beauty of a run on a sunny 17 degree day. From there I've gained new appreciation for the outdoors and learned to listen to my body. Running away from my unhealthy lifestyle has also led me to question my food. I despise artificially sweetened and "fake" foods. I despise food marketing and ...

Since then I've found joy in running in all seasons including the beauty of a run on a sunny 17 degree day. From there I've gained new appreciation for the outdoors and learned to listen to my body. Running away from my unhealthy lifestyle has also led me to question my food. I despise artificially sweetened and "fake" foods. I despise food marketing and the confusion it creates. I love to make stuff from scratch and put that extra effort into my meals. I will eat leftovers any day of the week over fast food. I've done 2 half marathons, both trail runs. For 2013 I'm challenging myself to do 2 half marathons - 1 trail and 1 road based. I'm also challenging myself to step up the strength training and yoga practice. Ambitious goals, yes, but running has taught me I'm capable of more than I think I am.

My Goals:
1) feel better about myself 2) improve my lifestyle. 3) include more yoga into my routine 4) lose the muffin top. 5) LOSE WEIGHT-- DUH? 6) 2011 is the year I did a half marathon!
My Program:
Fitness: I run. Need to work on some strength training and definitely need to stretch. Diet: a work in progress, as usual. I have good days and bad.
Personal Information:
Pizza and sweets are my diet sabotage. I'm also a nibbler/grazer and those calories add up quickly and are hard to track because I sometimes forget what I've even had to eat. I really want to get in better shape and lose weight. I'm trying to start married life off on a healthy foot so I can eventually pass a healthy lifestyle forward...
Other Information:
It really is true that you are your own worst enemy and half the battle in this journey is fighting yourself.
