When I was a relatively new believer at age 18 I learned about missions and longed to GO. But it wasn't until I was 44 when I was able to make my first trip. But by then I had become fluent ENOUGH in Spanish and laid a groundwork of contacts in Peru through simple correspondence. Don't give up! If God has put that stirring in your heart, at the right time He will bring it to pass. Meanwhile, you CAN pray for missionaries and support them financially! 46 days ago
And of course, when Jim Fixx dropped from heart issues you had the two camps: those who don't run saying "see, it's not healthy for you", and those who do, "imagine what he protected himself from by being active... he held it at bay for years"!
But seriously, I looked it up on Dr. Google and found this opinion: "he was sick as can be the whole time, knew it, and wouldn’t go to the doctor. " Apparently he ignored symptoms, kept running, despite having small heart attacks in the days leading up to the final event. BUT, that's one article one can find in internet searches.
Bottom line and lesson taken: work WITH your doctors, follow their advice... another reason for me to pull the cholesterol situation out of my little "denial box"... keep heeding the concussion protocol... and take care of ME! 'Cause no one else is going to.
Right... checking a horse's teeth reveals its AGE! Horse teeth grow at a certain rate and are ground down as they age, and the markings from "new teeth" help a handler tell... at auctions and horse sales, checking the teeth is pretty standard way of determining whether a healthy looking horse is younger or older.
So... when someone GIVES you a horse, you graciously accept the gift, you don't check its teeth!
