Starting a new healthy way of life as a vegetarian!

Hi, I'm Theresa! I'm 36 divorced with 3 children. I currently live with my boyfriend,Chris of 2 years. I was born and raised in Southern California, but now live in beautiful Idaho. Hi, I'm Theresa! I'm 36 divorced with 3 children. I currently live with my boyfriend,Chris of 2 years. I was born and raised in Southern California, but now live in beautiful Idaho. I recently converted to vegetarianism and look forward to getting back to my normal weight of 125. I gained this extra weight after a rough 2008 when the person dearest to me passed in February. My beautiful grandma, actually more my mother to me. I flew out and cared for her until she passed. During the next 2 months after she passed, I stayed to help grandpa with paperwork, and minor legal issues. When I came home I fell into a deep depression not leaving my bed sometimes for days. Plus I was going through a divorce. So, I of course gained more than my normal winter weight. I topped at 150. Normal is 125, winter 135. Now, I am better and my normal self for the most part. The weight is slowly coming off as I become more active. I have about 15 lbs to go.
Anyway that's all about me. I'm looking for all kinds of friends including experienced vegetarians to help me on on my new path.

My Goals:
My goals are:

1: To get back to my normal weight of 125 by March 10th.

2: Live a healthier life by eating better and exercises at least 4 days a week.

3: Have my cholesterol in a good range by May.

4: Be able to do my old exercise routine of 60 minute cardio, followed by strength training 5 days a week.

My Program:
1: I drink about 72 ounces of water a day.

2: I am a L/O vegetarian for ethical and dietary reasons.

3: I don't eat unhealthy fast food anymore.

4: I take a multi-vitamin, and fish oil pills. Only "meat" product I take and I do it as I have high cholesterol and I want to avoid harsh medications.

5: I try to get 30-60 mins of exercise including cardio. Hard this time of year though. I want to work torward 60 mins cardio and 30 mins strength training. This was my routine when I was fit, and lived in California.


Personal Information:
Gandhi said it..."Be the change you wish to see in the world." I try, and I am much happier when I remember this awesome quote! Helps me to be more accepting, and kinder to those I come into contact with, even if I want to smack them...lol.
About me...I am a SAHM, 36 with 3 children. They are 17, 12, and 9. I am going back to school to better myself and be more independent. I live with my wonderful boyfriend, and we plan on marrying after I refinance. It's wonderful that he allows me to stay home, but I was a stay home mom 8 years of my 11 year marriage. I love it, but a lot has changed since I worked full time up to 2000. I am still young, and I want to know I can be self supportive, and not always depend on others. I am also getting bored, and depressed. I find that when I work, even part time, my depression lessens. I am a Christian, but need to get up and go back to church.

Other Information:
YES, I love, and adore penguins! One might say obsessed, lol. I think they are the most precious animals. One of my goals is to get to pet, and hopefully hug and kiss one this year. Weird? Maybe. Like i said, I love them to pieces. My favorites are the Gentoo, and Emperor. I also love scrapbooking, movies, and collecting The Trail of Painted Ponies. I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, and a 55 gallon aquarium that houses about 30 plus fish.

Hey!!! You're almost at your goal, way to go!!!! I am back on the exercise and eating right wagon, still vegetarian, but struggling to stay vegan.

Are you still vegetarian? You should drop into the vegetarian/vegan cooking spark team, we are rocking the recipes lately. :-)
