"YOU SLACK ... IT COMES BACK!"

Hello. Welcome to my page.
I've been a SP member since 2006. I seem to be monitoring a 5-10lb range of weight gain/loss. Just when I start to get off-track...I am back on SP because it does work for me.

I've tried many different diets just like most of us have.

Hello. Welcome to my page.
I've been a SP member since 2006. I seem to be monitoring a 5-10lb range of weight gain/loss. Just when I start to get off-track...I am back on SP because it does work for me.

I've tried many different diets just like most of us have.
I feel like if you could see my inner body like a tree after its cut with all the different layers & environmental impacts; Scientists would say, "this was the fat free erra, this is the low carb years, look at the damage, etc..."

I can remember in my early 20's not eating much at all...basically starvation diet. Based on not really knowing how it all worked. Just cut calories & fat grams. Sure I lost weight but was very unhealthy. I was anemic and suffered from hypoglycemia (low sugar) attacks.

Deciding that I couldn't live that way, I paid attention to the Dr. and started to eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. Sure I gained weight but I also felt a lot better too.

Sometime after that tried the Atkin's Diet. Lost weight but who can live that way forever?? Not healthy for me.

In 2002, I joined weight watchers with a friend. I was successful and I lost 16 lbs. (Weight Watchers general guideline only said I needed to lose 3lbs but I wanted to lose closer to their lower range about 15). I also joined Curves at the same time and saw great results. I was in the best shape of my life. Curves closed in my hometown but I was still a life time WW member maintaining within my goal range. I joined ITFigures (similar concept to Curves) for 1 year and kept maintaining.

Forward to 2007, the weight crept back slowly. I was at the very top of my goal weight and didn't want to lose the membership. (Although I wasn't tracking Points) I felt the membership kept me in check with that monthly weigh in reminder.
I've always got to this top weight limit of mine and refused to go any higher. That's when I realize to reel it back it and buckle down!!

I read the book "YOU: on a Diet" and was facinated. I took some of the tips like cutting the HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) out. I quit drinking pop. I really watch labels. I've learned to make U-Turns.

Oct 2008-I am interested in the Eating Clean principle and purchased the book 10/5/08. From what I've read it makes the most sense to me. Eating natural or as close to natural foods so your body knows how to break it down just seems right!

I also know that I am "sodium senstive". Occasionally I suffer from Edema in my feet and legs. I went through testing with my Dr. & everything physically that could cause it was fine. I discovered through SP nutrition tracking that when I eat over 2400mg of Sodium a day that's when I see symptoms. So Eating Clean can only help this & possibly eliminate the symptoms.

Overall, I've learned its just a balancing act.

Personal Motivation - AHHH I'm in my 40's now. How did that happen?? LOL! Mentally I don't feel like it but physically I'd like to be toned up. I would really like to feel confident in a bikini & be ready for a BEACH vacation ANY TIME.

March 2010 - I've reset my Weight tracker and set a new goal. I am making exercise a habit/routine. I will be weighing in once a week and trying to Blog more about it. I've also taken my measurements so I have another way of tracking other than the scale.

Jan 2011 - I'm maintaining a healthy range. I can't control just 1 number. But I can control a 4 lb range & be happy. I have purchased the Zumba Dance DVD's and am excited to add this to my exercise routine.

Spark friends inspire me. :)

I love tracking food - it keeps me eating more balanced.

I love the teams - great form of learning from others.

I love getting sparks point to spend!!

I love getting new clothes that fit nicely (especially jeans)!

I love feeling healthy and fit.

I do not love my thighs!!! But will use this dislike as motivation to push through those lunges, squats, etc.

My Program:
Eating Clean as much as possible.

(March 24, 2010)Jillian Michaels 30 day Slim Down Challenge:
Involves rotating
SHRED. No More Trouble Zones & Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD's. Along with days of REST.

Tracking my foods on SP. I find this helps me keep track of the nutrition and calories so that I eat more balanced.

Incorporating different exercise routines as I get bored.

Using the BMR/RMR calorie Deficit to raise my awareness on how those pounds really come off.

Personal Information:
I am 5'4" tall.

I live in Michigan...(have my whole life).

I enjoy snowmobiling, bowling, Horses, traveling, biking, camping and spending time friends and my family.

Other Information:

The results of your calculations are: BMR 1,402 RMR 1,317 (calories)
For an explanation of BMR and RMR and important notes on the accuracy of these calculations, see Calculating BMR and RMR. We also explain why RMR is likely to be more appropriate for your needs.
As BMR and RMR only represent resting energy expenditure or calories burned during a day of rest, an adjustment must be made to reflect activity level. This can be done by multiplying by an activity factor:

1.2 Sedentary Little or no exercise and desk job
BMR 1,682
RMR1,580

1.375 Lightly Active Light exercise or sports 1-3 days a week
BMR 1,928
RMR 1,811

1.55 Moderately Active Moderate exercise or sports 3-5 days a week
BMR 2,173
RMR 2,041

Just wanted to say I hope you house sells and all goes well. I've moved plenty, but it seems to just get harder as I get older. :)

Settling in good, though it's much more space than I've had for the past several years....

Thanks for the comment on my SparkPage. She finally came out for a bit last night and is doing much better tonight. I have my little buddy back. I still had to go look for her under the bed when I got home, but at least she came out when I started moving around. Saddest thing ever to see her that scared, but I'm ever so grateful it didn't last for long.

I hope you like the Fiber One brownie. I think they taste better cold, after they are in the refrigerator. :)
