Little By Little...

Hello! My name is Ashley!

I'm very excited to start living a healthier and happier life! I quit smoking with the help of chocolate consumption after 6 years with the habit . Smoke free since 6/24/10! My new health goal is to lose the chocolate weight (plus a little more.. =) I am currently training to enter a cycling race this fall with my husband.

A little about me:
I love to cook! New recipes are so much fun! I'm also a bit of a wine-o. I enjoy baking and decorating cakes for family events. I enjoy making rose petal beads for rosaries, necklaces, earrings, etc. I plan to teach myself to knit/croche sometime soon.
I am the youngest of eight children. I love being part of a big family and I am so blessed to have a close relationship with my parents and each of my siblings! I am married to a wonderful, supportive man who lights up my life in so many ways. =) I'm a lucky gal!
I am currently on the path to better living through healthy eating choices, portion control, elliptical training, kickboxing, yoga, and strength training. Instead of setting one large, intimidating goal I will be meeting my overall goal little by little, 5 lbs at a time. Bring it on! =D

My Goals:
My goal is to ride a 50K cycling race in August 2012 and to run a 5K by the end of the 2012.

My Program:
I am currently doing a lot of elliptical training, kickboxing, occasional yoga, and strength training. When this Wyoming winter lets up I plan to take my workouts outside! Cycling, walking, running, and exploring the terrain of this beautiful state!

I made your recipe for dinner on Sunday!

Cooked a chicken breast in frypan with hot sauce... and ate it with a delicious salad (spinach, cucs, toms, peppers, feta, and dried cranberries! Yum!

Wow, that chicken/hot sauce salad sounds delicious! I think I would love that. Haha, but last night, I was feeling wayyyyyy too lazy to cut up veggies for a salad, cook anything or have to clean up afterwards! I was debating between a bowl of cereal or a smoothie.... a banana/blueberry/peach smoothie with a scoop of protein powder won out. And no dishes to clean up! yay!
