Thanks for stopping by my page. I batch cook soup -it has 2 1/2 servings of veggies in it, 1 serving of healthy grain and 1/2 servings of protein (beans). It makes exactly 5 servings (convenient since there are 5 days to my usual work week...lol). I'd be happy to share the recipe if you like!
I was going to comment on your status, but I got a little too rambly
Back when I started here, I think it was the community involvement that got me over that first month hump. I'd started SP a couple times before and lost it after a couple weeks, but this time it stuck. Some tips:
Tracking - start out with just getting in the habit. Don't worry about what you're eating or portion control, just try to make it a point to track every meal for a week. As tempting as it is to start off fresh eating perfectly, it's actually very useful to have an idea of what your 'before' eating habits look like. I found that my breakthrough in terms of tracking came after the first week. I had a 'cheat' meal on the weekend, and instead of writing it off (or even giving up because I'd failed), I tracked it and moved on. I don't know what it was, but that was the moment that I realized I could keep going with this for months.
Exercise - I pulled out every trick in the book to get into this habit. I posted status updates asking friends to give me a kick in the bum down to the gym (I still do, actually), challenged sparkbuddies to join me in a run. I stick stickers on a calendar for every workout I do. This is where community involvement is great - blog your frustrations and successes, and build up a network of supportive people. In fact, I find I get almost as much out of cheering other people on as I do asking for support myself.
So, with that in mind, I'm giving you a challenge for this Tuesday: Do some form of physical activity today (even if it's just 15 minutes of dancing around your living room), and update your status telling us what you did..
