I have a love for reading, watching movies, watching hockey, caring for exotic animals, and art.

My eating habits have always been terrible. I'm a picky eater who doesn't like to try new things. I was raised eating pretty much every meal out at some restaurant so I had no clue how to cook. For years I lived on microwave meals, fast food, and pizza.

When I was in high school, I was involved in team sports. Since leaving HS and the team sports, I continued to put on the pounds and neglected regular physical exercise.

About five years ago, I had some health problems which led me to see a doctor who gave me a complete physical. The report wasn't very good; high cholestrol, borderline diabetic, etc. It scared me enough to start trying some different eating habits and I joined Curves. I lost about 20 pounds right away and was feeling so much better. But, then somewhere along the way my trips to Curves became less frequent and I fell right back into my old eating habits. So I've put back on the 20 pounds plus some to reach my highest weight ever.

Once I found SparkPeople.com I started setting healthy goals for myself. I'm looking for something that will work for me and help me make some permanent changes in my life.

Hi!! I have been MIA for years and still dealing with this weight struggle but I think I got it down mentally now!! I think I "get it" and why I have not been truly successful... I hope all is well! :)

I hope you are working toward your goals. It is good to see you only need to lose FIVE POUNDS, 7 more times and you will be at your goal.

There are articles here on SP about how serious Pre-Diabetic Syndrome is for our health, so I hope you are staying on your healthy diet and giving yourself the best advantage for good health. emoticon

Do know that we SPARKERS care about you and are here for support. Don't use food to deal with the emotional stress, because that will just make you more upset. Bless you! I hope you are able to get back in focus soon. It is storming here today so my puter isn't acting nice.

You can lose FIVE POUNDS, 7 more times!!!
I hope you didn't quit, because that makes me so sad to find SPARKERS who have given up! Sign in every single day and keep working toward the goals you want for your wonderful life. No one can motivate you, but YOU. It has to come from within.
