Taking charge of my life

Recently decided that I can't "diet" my way to a healthy body and life. So, I've made the committment to make a lifestyle change. No dieting - just eating healthy, whole foods, as much organic as possible/practical, with an eye onportion sizes and nutrients.

I've made a committment to exercise. I practically have to pass the gym to get home, so I ask myself whenever I don't want to go "What are you going to do if you don't go to the gym?" If the answer is watch TV or spend time on ...

If the answer is watch TV or spend time on Facebook, then I have to go to the gym. Tonight, no gym because I have concert tickets! But it has to be something worthwhile in order to skip the gym.

Also committed to following a metabolic/cardio base training program, even though it feels counterintuitive. So far, feeling like I'm actually getting more out of my cardio, in terms of fitness, even though not burning as many calories.

Wow, first goal met, and 3 months early! New goal: get under 180 by 10/04/10.

Done!:
Be able to do a sit-up on my own by my birthday in October. It was totally embarrassing when the trainer asked me to do one, and I couldn't even come close!

Sounds like you did good, Patty!
Same as you - just could not get my collar bone to that bar - I was so close- if my arms had maybe been an inch or so longer to drop a little lower (Ha! Sounds like a good excuse! ).
You should be so proud of yourself for completing all five workouts!

Last workout, Patty! I knew thrusters had to be in there somewhere! It's nice to see they gave us a nod by doing jumping pullups. Haven't done those in ages - just hoping it is enough "oomph" that I can get a few chest to bar. Good luck!

Looks like I am going to have to wait til next week, Patty. Just came back from the doctor - a shot in the butt, breathing treatment, IV and a couple inhalers.
You can get all 150 - I know you can! Good luck and I'll be cheering for you!

This one won't be a good one for me, Patty. Came down with a cold yesterday that kicked up my asthma. I may go in Friday if I feel okay just to do five or ten and get something. Bummer.

Whoo Hoo! Presses and Deadlifts this week Patty! The box jumps will slow me down - can't jump because of my foot so will have to do step ups.
