I joined Sparkpeople in July 2008, but didn't start using it until February 2009. In 4 months, I lost 20 lbs. I started slacking on my healthy habits & by January 2010, I gained all but 1.5 lbs back. Needless to say, I am starting over.

I am a single, 47 year old mother of three children, ages 26, 17 & 13. And, grandmother of 2.

I have been over weight since I was in the 3rd grade. Over the years, I have tried several diets, losing and gaining, blah blah blah. ...

My mother and grandmother both had strokes in their early 40s. My niece had a stroke at 12 years old. My dad had a stent put in his heart (at age 62), which his brother also had done a few years prior. At 64, my dad had bypass surgery. Both my parents have high blood pressure, & my younger brother is on the border.

This is it! I have to do this!
