Hi, Paula! It's Sunday morning, and I thought I'd stop by to say a quick hello before I start my day.

Life is moving on here in Oregon; my son is graduating from high school next month, and learning how to parent him in this stage is quite the challenge! I've been attending a really cool bootcamp 6 days/week, and I'm having the time of my life doing boxing and fancy footwork and circuit training with a group of like-minded people. It's fun being people of all ages and abilities--and I do it at 5:45am every morning, so I get my exercise out of the way first thing!

We did a contest at work from the beginning of the year 'til now to see who could lose the highest percentage of body weight. I won (but practically killed myself with a heavy-duty workout regime--NEVER AGAIN), but then I went out and binged big-time for 2 days. Today's Day 5 back on track, but just the idea of eating right now grosses me out. I'm gonna visit my dietician next week to set up a maintenance program.

Hope you're doing well! Keep me posted... ~~Lori 8-)

Hey, Paula! Just stopping by to see how you're doing. I'm finally back on track after going completely mind-boggling crazy over the holidays. There was a huge power outage here in Oregon (worst ice storm in 40 years), and since I work for the electric company, I spent about 10 days over the holidays working 12-hour shifts...which means FOOD FOOD FOOD. I must've eaten 5000 calories a day, and I'm not kidding. So...I started on December 31st with a run, and I started bootcamp 6 times/week on January 1st. I've never been in such good shape in my life! It's very hard, but rewarding when I don't actually drop dead each day I complete a class! I'm also in a private bet at work with 7 other folks: whoever loses the most percentage of body weight in the first three months of the year wins the $400 pot. Well, I'm in first place right now, but you never know, someone might get motivated all of a sudden and lose a bunch of weight in the next 5 weeks! ~~Lori 8-)

Hey, Paula! Just stopping by to say hello and let you know I was thinkin' about you...I don't get a lot of time on the computer any more, but I am still logging my food (here on Spark) and tracking my exercise (using my heart rate monitor). My son just started his senior year in high school, he just got a job (so I don't have to pay him allowance--yahoo!), and I start a new shift at work this upcoming week. Other than that, life is pretty good. A fellow coworker gave me a lot of beautiful clothes that FIT!!! Plus, they're all form-fitting, and as my sister just recently told me when I visited New Jersey, "Lori, you've put so much effort into losing weight that I can't believe you still wear baggy clothes! You need to wear stuff that shows off all your hard work!" So I've been wearing tighter-fitting clothes, and I've never heard such compliments! It feels good, but it's also a bit unnerving, all this attention being given to me. So...have a lovely day and hope you're doing well! ~~Lori 8-)
