Here for 3 years!

Jan. 2008, In the beginning, this is what I wrote: Hi! All of a sudden I have realized that I ate way (weigh) too much over the holidays and I need to fit into the dress for my son's wedding in June.

I reached my goal and my son's wedding in June was wonderful!

Now the name of the game is "Maintaining"!!! Somedays are easier than others and right now I have gained back 3-4 pounds. UGH!

Jan. 6, 2010--Happy two year anniversary to me! I am still battling the same 3-4 pounds that keeps coming and going. I think with this new plan, I can make them leave for good!

January, 2009: I'm still here, and still 4 pounds heavier than I would like to be. I am counting steps again and still hovering 3-4 pounds over. The kicker is, I feel good. I haven't been sick at all during this school year. I am eating healthier, and I do believe I am healthier. So, what's up with these pounds?

Here are my steps now and a year ago:

Jan. 2008: 6142..........Jan. 2009: 5679 (off to a slow start)
Feb. 2008: 7580...........Feb. 2009: 7876 (That's a little better)
Mar. 2008: 8840...........Mar. 2009: 7604 (ooops--went down)
.........April, 2009: 7734 (not there yet)
.........May, 2009: 7888 ( smidge better)
.........June, 2009: 7838 (DAMN!)
.........July, 2009: 7255 (Double-damn)
.........August, 2009: 7711 (baby steps)
.........Sept., 2009 : 6713 (boy, does that stink!)

Do you ever feel invisible? That is a bit how I am feeling right now on Sparkpeople. I feel like those of us who didn't have a lot of weight to lose, or have an inspiring story, don't really matter. Sure there are appropriate teams for us, and I have found common ground with those members, but I get a bit tired of only hearing about those who have struggled, and such. I know this is a way to promote SP, and it is great that so many have had success, but come on! There are others of us out here in cyberspace too! I know this will never be read, but I feel better for having written it.

My Goals:
My goal is to loose the extra pounds that found their way onto my waist and butt.

Now, maintaining and finding the balance between exercise and caloric intake.

6/01/09--Maintaining is really tough going right now. I go up and down 3-4 pounds but never really stay at 117 for long. This is really getting annoying, and sometimes gets me down. I'm trying to not let it bother me,but it does.

July 6, 2009: I am really bummed about the weight thing. I am going to have to go back to square one and do what I did when I first began. Lots of crunches and more strength training. I am certainly walking enough, but that isn't enough any more. I've also discovered that I can eat and drink again and I'm enjoying it. That is a new pleasure for an IBS sufferer! I need to get more disciplined. Starting NOW!!!!!

Sunday: Do the Jump Start Cardio Workout


Monday: Do the 8-Minute Lower Body Ball Workout
+ 30 minutes cardio of your choice.


Tuesday: Do the 8-Minute Upper Body Workout with Ball Video
+ 30 minutes cardio of your choice.


Wednesday: Do the 5-Minute Core Workout with Ball Video
+ 30 minutes cardio of your choice.


Thursday: Do the 10-Minute Lower Body Workout
+ 30 minutes cardio of your choice.


Friday: Do the 6-Minute Upper Body Workout with Ball Video
+ 30 minutes cardio of your choice.


Saturday: Do the 15-Minute Abs Workout

I love to walk outside but that isn't going to happen in this cold weather, so I'll make a better effort to use the treadmill, and get back into my yoga class.

I love working with kids, but the most important thing to me is my family.

I agree with your latest comment! I just focus on new challenges and doing my SparkCoach stuff. I have about 5 more pounds to lose. (Although, I must say, that is only because I gradually re-gained that much and more throughout last year.) But I would definitely like more input from the "maintainers" in the group! emoticon

I just want to say I READ your bio. :D
I too under stand. we that need to lose just a few pounds get over looked. I Put on a good bit after marrying the second time. We ate out a LOT. When I lost 30 lbs people noticed. haha
I still have 5/10 to go, around the mid section, but getting there.
