Tired of looking HAGGY!!

Hi, :) I'm a married, 46 year old mother of six. Yep, you read right... 6! :-) I'm caretaker of my Mom who has Alzheimer's disease and just in case I had a down moment they think I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. (ouch)

The only way I get through each day is with God's blessings.

I feel the need to find my new self and keep this disease from taking my muscle and fight for it.

I've always been a very public and outgoing person and that has changed. ...

I've always been a very public and outgoing person and that has changed. So? It's all about fitness for me, good place as any to start. I'm thinking makeover? lol Of course I mean of the muscular kind... I'm going to concentrate on exercising through the pain to stay strong enough to live another day.

Update: Just so everyone doesn't think I'm a total Non-loser (heh-heh) I did lose my weight, quit smoking and got sick, steroids packed it right back on. But? I can do this! I just have to iron out how! :-)

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

My Goals:
To lose 20 pounds. Feel better, look healthier and not so tired.

To exercise and to stick with it!

My Program:
I refuse to diet... (or at least to call it that). It seems so terribly like a 4 letter word!! :)

My goal has been to make better choices, a cup of tea at night instead of a snack. Making sure I get more fruit and veggies in my diet and adding water and lots of it.

Exercise! Move my booty 6 days a week. At least 3 of strengthening.

Spark... Everyday!

The meal tracker is my motivation, it truly helps!

Personal Information:
My full time job is being a Mom, to my kids and my Mom, it takes all of my time.

I love to help people and I volunteer as often as I can.

I don't have very many pics of myself... I tend to be the one taking the pictures and enjoy playing with them after, taking something simple from the back of a picture and making it art.

Other Information:
Favorite author for kicks and giggles is Janet Evanovich. She's like a mini vacation, I find myself cracking up! I also admire the fact that she leaves the nitty gritty to your own imagination.

Fav. quote as of lately is: If God brings me to it? He''ll bring me through it!!

I love to research and thrive on discussion.

emoticon and emoticon ! I wanted to say welcome to the Living with RAD Team and that I am happy you are here on this long, painful journey with the rest of us and no longer going it alone. Please know that we are a wonderful group of people who are all forging our path through life with RA.

Look at all those beautiful children! I take it that it gets cold where you live! My parents like to tell me and my brother that it was cold in Spring in upstate NY when they were first married and that is why we are both born in January! I believe you when you say you don't have a lot of down time!

So welcome and enjoy! If you have questions, you can always reach out and send a SparkMail, or stop by my SparkPage at the link below. We can do this together, with encouragement and support from others, and SparkPeople has really great resources for any kind of workout or condition.

Keep moving forward and fight the good fight!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, and Enjoy!

Look at all those beautiful children! I take it that it gets cold there in the Winter! LOL That has always been my parents' excuse, but they only had us 2. They said it was cold in the Spring in Upstate NY, as we are both January babies! And I assume there is very little down-time as your intro stated.

Hello,

I found you on the team page. I too am a caregiver for an alzheimer father and a mother on oxygen both with endurance issues.

My tip is I keep a fully stocked pic nic basket ie paper products, table cloth, trash bags in the car so if we have erands on a nice day I can park the car by the river with sandwiches I bought and we can all have a quiet hour together.
