Patricia's Journey

After losing my job, I've put on a few extra pounds and by my 44th birthday in January 2012 I *will* be back to my size 4 body size and be stronger, sexier and healthier than ever. I'm only a size 8 and to many that's no big deal but in this economy, who wants to buy a whole new wardrobe? I've got work to do and I'm cool with that. And it's not about what others think is ok. I'm in the body, in this case, it's alright to say it's all about ME!

Just going to work every morning ...

I'm only a size 8 and to many that's no big deal but in this economy, who wants to buy a whole new wardrobe? I've got work to do and I'm cool with that. And it's not about what others think is ok. I'm in the body, in this case, it's alright to say it's all about ME!

Just going to work every morning was a workout in itself. I would run for the bus or train, walk several blocks to my office and I'd be running around the office all day long. Now, I sit much of the day sending out resumes and waiting for the phone to ring.

The good thing in my favor is that I got a free gym-quality treadmill from FreeCycle a couple months ago and I'm doing a workout I found on Prevention magazine's website that requires I run just 30 minutes every day. Well today that's starting.

I also don't eat out anymore because I simply can't afford it. So I have some delicious simple and inexpensive meals that have been helping me keep on track. Right now I'm eating a delicious white bean, spinach and sausage soup I made and it's so good. So with the high fiber and protein I'm getting, I plan to knock this weight off and be confident and sexy for 2012!

My Goals:
For the entire month of October, I plan to make television work for me. As long as I'm watching television, I will get out my seat, stretch, row, get on the treadmill or do anything but sit during all commercial breaks. The punishment? If I'm too tired to work out during those commercials, no tv. That means less tv on during the day as I work from home. I will be here on Spark checking in and connecting daily and I hope I meet others willing to take the challenge with me.
